I love id, but I don't think they have the talent or the design philosophy to compete in a modern genre of shooters. We are no longer doing corridor shooters, we are now in the generation of Bioshock Infinite and other similarly complex, emotional and compelling stories, characters and game worlds.

Yeah this definitely looks like a deliberate business decision. My guess is that Nintendo and Amazon couldn't come to terms on some specifics, probably about the cost of the consoles. It reminds me a bit of the EA/Steam rift before those companies publicly acknowledged their disagreement on pricing for DLC.

Sad that he is not the voice. I love MGS games and I trust Kojima, but I can't help but feel that this is a cash-in for a bigger budget, bigger named actor. The plot thickens. It sounds like IGDA is pretty much entirely at fault for knowing about the female dancers and even went so far as to specifically approve their outfits. I love this game industry drama stuff, its like high school, except with 40 year olds.

The worst part of this story is that it is the 2nd time it has happened. Shame on the people involved for repeating a mistake that they should have learned from this time last year.

I gotta disagree. The PS, PS2, PS3 and now the PS4 designation clearly indicate a new entry into the series of playstation consoles. I do not think the "U" clearly designates that the WiiU is a full, new console, rather than just an accessory for the Wii, which it sounds like to me.

Yeah man, the only chance Nintendo has to compete this fall with the next Xbox and PS4 is a giant title like a full Mario or Zelda game. Anything short of that and I fear for the WiiU.

I love Nintendo, but they really screwed the pooch with the WiiU. First, it needs a better name to differentiate it from the Wii. Second, they overreached with the tablet controller trying to recreate the success of the Wiimote. Third, the biggest mistake they made was launching a console without any killer games.…

Shockingly, this playable game is actually more fun to play than to watch.

I saw Bioshock Infinite's rating dropped from 96 to 94 (Xbox platform) yesterday because one "60" rating was added. That to me is nuts, that one rating can drag a score down 2 entire points, and pretty much every point above 90 is a precious commodity.

Every MMO doesn't look like the generic last one until we pay for it and find out it is still the same damn generic theme park that launched unfinished and unpolished, with the intention of finishing and polishing only after the game has launched.

Looks good so far. Because images are now so much more prominent on the site, I encourage the Kotaku team to really be discerning with your image selection, as I think having the right image will make this format look excellent, while having a bland image will make this format look terrible.
