I run a Customer Support portal for a large business, and while I love what I do and I am good at it, it is one motherfucking thankless job. I would hate to work in Allure's web marketing/web support teams this week.

I often have customers call to ask if we have items in stock. I ask them to check the site, as it's live inventory and won't appear online if we no longer have it. They INSIST that I double check, so I do it just to appease them. Until this one woman had a list of about 7 items, and by number 3 I legitimately just…
Apparently the "allure" has faded . . . . [fade out]
People need to fucking calm their shit when it comes to internet stuff. Don't start blathering out your ass like you know what you're talking about, using Chrome is not going to change jack shit if it's a probelm with their servers.
It's not the end of the world. It is possibly the least important inconvenience in the…
I always think of "lovely" as being a character assessment.
I overheard a breakup in the Anna's Taqueria at MIT that included the line "you spend more time with your robot than with me" that made me almost snort my quesadilla. Robots take a lot of time, but can be quite rewarding.
it's fine. In Germany you pay a tip but it's not wages it's like "thanks," so smaller %. I can't recall ever getting truly "bad" service anywhere there. (small differences might help, you pay for tap water there so that's one less service provided as far as constnat refills go)
Most places in the UK don't have included service charged and I some European countries don't do service charges or tipping at all. We're not a monolith culture yo
i would like the new adage to be: can't afford to pay your employees, can't afford to run a business.
In the UK tips are often given, but the waiting staff are paid a legally mandated minimum wage. I think that's the way that it should be done, with tips being a sign of a job well done rather than something that people feel obliged to give or an axe to hold over the waiters head. When I was a waiter, tips were…
I'm just gonna come out and say it: I HATE tipping, which frankly I equate to "hidden fees". I'm super grateful that for the majority of my life I have lived in countries where tipping is regarded as a bonus for good service, and not a mandatory obligation. Now however, I've relocated to the Middle East and have to…
I hate to defend her because she is clearly a racist but in the UK and parts of the commonwealth "Chinese Whispers" is the only name we've ever used for said game.
Neither's Steve, which is my Parisien born-and-bred husband's name. Like, not even Stephan. His birth certificate just reads "Steve". WTF, in-laws?
Little known fact - Celine Dion is basically the most famous singer in the tiny, central/east African country of Burundi. Where I lived. For two years. Celine Dion is so popular, that I did a pub quiz once that included not one, not two, but three questions about Celine Dion. Getting in a taxi? Celine Dion. Going out…
I miss mine sometimes; they definitely increased sensitivity for me (my nips are just not that sensitive otherwise). I took them out because showering with a mesh pouf was becoming way too anxiety-ridden, but if you are less accident prone and more vigilant about what you put near your breasts, you might like them. …
A bit harsh.
Her comments aren't stupid nor is she. It's a good thing she went into modeling. Her kids never have to worry about student loans if they do decide to go to college.
