As a Texan, you can’t take evolution out of the classroom if it never was there in the first place. Hopefully it’s different now, but when I was in high school (early aughts) I never learned about evolution. Or if it was taught, it must have been something that was briefly covered.

I think there’s a disconnect, but I agree things done outside of school is none of the school’s business. You’re right that schools aren’t parents and when the kids are in school, the admin and teachers are the guardians of the kids until school’s out. Anything outside of those hours is on the parents for sure.

I’m not sure anything good has ever come from tobacco/nicotine. It should be reclassified as you say, based on the terrible effects it has on people that consume it and those around them.
