Consider me choked. I really liked having all my feeds/widgets in one place and after looking at some of the alternatives it appears none of them do Calendar, gmail, weather, news aggregation as well as iGoogle. It's a crying shame they aren't keeping this around. Are there people out there who really hop bookmark

Totally agree with this ^. My main reason for even checking out this article was because I wanted to connect with some of the SK fans on io9 :) Was also disappointed that they excluded the DT series but hopefully someone, somewhere, out there is working on it (Do you Hear Me Internet!?!).

I'm with you on this, although with the Sony bandwagon instead :) I've invested in an A77 and enjoy the hundreds of lens options I get with the legacy Minolta lenses.

Anecdotally, recently at work a couple of my co-workers were noticing some unusual behaviour on their ESET protected laptops so ran a MalwareBytes scan to see if it found anything unusual. My laptop, not running any protection (and never has, neither has my home computer) also ran the scan just to be sure there

What I need to figure out is not so much how to stock my liquor cabinet, but rather how to keep it from being emptied every week :)

G+ isn't facebook and to try and use it like FB is to find it pointless. I know very few of the people I have circled on G+ personally but I love the content they bring to my stream. Mostly photogs but also some tech heads and misc people. G+ is a great way to nearly instantly create (using shared circles) a great

Nail on the head here. It almost always comes down to how you like to use the camera that will define what features will benefit you more. The EVF camera's that I've used I've greatly enjoyed, mostly because I didn't have to hold my camera out to get the picture setup the way that I like :)

The low light argument is probably the strongest against EVF, as they definitely do get noisy in low-light scenarios. Despite that, the newest EVFs do have excellent dynamic range and color gamut so I would be surprised if there was much (if anything) missing in the EVF that the camera's actual sensor would capture.

Nope, I've been using it for a while now and I'm really happy with it. Once you initially sign up you're not really limited in any way from using the service save from not being able to purchase music through the music store they feature in the browser version of the service. Enjoy!

The one counterpoint to this is that the camera sensor also doesn't have the dynamic range the human eye does. When you're taking a picture which makes more sense: to see what your eye will see or to see what the picture will actually look like when you press the shutter?

What I love about this kind of argument is how sensitive it is to the context of the person giving it. I could make the exact Opposite argument as nearly all the "tech-savvy" people I know use Android phones and those less inclined to use their phone as a smart phone typically have iOS devices. Unfortunately, as in

Wow, that was incredibly useful to me as I've been trying to figure out how much bigger the Sony SLT-A65 was vs the A55 which I found to be a bit small. My decision has officially been made!

Amen! This is the exact explanation that I give people also when they ask me about iOS vs Android. For many the iPhone/iPad is simply the right choice, typically those who just want something to work simply and don't care about customizations or being able to explore/experiment with their equipment. The fact that I

Microsoft is hopefully set to capitalize on something that a lot of people in this thread have already mentioned. Some people want a device that can do everything! Already many people don't touch their desktops/laptops in favor of their phone or tablet because 95% of what they need to do can be done with that

"Sorry there was an error. Please try again later" when I try to accept the terms of service. Bah! Anyone else seeing this or is it just the proxy I happen to be using?

While an impressive camera the shooting speed of this particular unit isn't quite as impressive considering you can dang near the same FPS (12) in a 1400$ camera from Sony, the A77. Obviously there are many other things to like about the 1Dx but the fps wouldn't be the primary "Holy crow that's awesome!" feature to

Thank you for pointing out what, to me, seems like the most logical understanding of the phenomenon. This is the theory I've always presented when people around me start talking about the fantastical nature of a recently experienced Dejavu. Come back to Earth people! :D

My understanding has also been this ^. I think people put far too much ethereal qualities into deja-vu events when they really should just be called brain farts :)

I'm always surprised at the mass paranoia that so many people seem to latch onto whenever this topic comes up. I can certainly understand why some people need to hide behind a pseudonym but for the average joe out there it's hardly critical.

You, my friend, are speaking my language. This entire article oozes a pretty cynical attitude towards Google in general. It also precludes all the possibilities you mention, namely if you're going to spread information that you don't want other people to know...Don't Tell Them! The idea of circles is such a welcome
