When you see the explosions generated by decades old Toyota sedans here in Afghanistan, you'd completely understand how deadly this SVBIED could be... Though I will say that MRAPs hold up pretty well. Aside from that, the shockwave from it will still be ridiculous and that in itself can cause deaths.

This also isn’t a processor... A Pentium II cannot handle the software in use, and I’d argue the same about some of the computers out here that are
still being used. The Predator still performs its job just fine. The new one may be able to carry more and go a higher altitude, but the mission doesn’t always require a

I paid $2000 somewhere around 2009-2011 for a worn, but unmolested
1990 CRX Si. It had over 200,000 miles, and at around 265,000 miles the clutch crapped out. A spring on the pressure plate popped out and I couldn’t change gears with the engine running. I’m not sure if it was the original clutch, but it was a Honda

Ignore AmicusCuriae. I’ve noticed that a lot of people, particularly on one side but not exclusively, will cry and moan if their side is ever criticized. It doesn’t matter if the criticism is completely valid. It would never fly and would be deemed “unfair,” but I wish people had to pass a test verifying they are

Wow. Literally right down the road from these targets and never knew until I read the article. While I remain skeptical about a lot of things, I know there is a high value placed on avoiding civilian casualties. Unfortunately, they still happen, but if Al Jazeera was bombed intentionally, they likely were aiding the

I saw a handful of S2000s under $10,000 in my area when I bought my 14,000 mile 2008 four years ago. I'm sure there are still a few AP1s for under $10k.

I wouldn’t say it’s “moronic.” It may be overboard from what’s absolutely necessary or for your particular situation, but it’s just an estimate anyway. Just like recommended oil changes — they’re estimates that should work for most people based on the average driver. Tracking your bike/car will *need* an oil change

I enjoy my 1990 CRX Si and 2008 S2000. Simple, responsive, agile. Managed to be fun and feel solid despite being a "cheap" car. The Civic-we-won't-see-any-time-soon seems fun but almost all the cars now feel bloated.

Not at all. Very difficult. It’s well-known that inhabitants of this island do not enjoy eating or drinking.

I used to wonder about this, because the time it’d take bothered me, but I understand it. It’s safer assuming you are able to back into a spot without hitting anything. I own and drive primarily small and low vehicles — CRX, S2000, CBR600, etc — and often end up with (relatively) huge SUVs and trucks parked beside me.

My $2000 1990 CRX Si. Threw a built B18-VTEC in it and enjoy the little shitbox. I tried to get the vanity plate "5H1TB0X" but Alabama DMV has no humor.

Our power is generated by a nuclear plant. I know many have a problem with those, but I don't.

Because, high lift often has some overlap between exhaust/intake which would allow some of the boost to blow through. May not be the case here, not sure, but with forced induction the high lift isn't as important.

Have only got to fly on one twice. Used to watch in awe when I worked right next to an airport where they'd fly these things, I assume, full of cargo. Always impressed at how huge they are, and the stance is way cooler than any of those wacky cars kids drive these days. Never thought I'd get to ride in one.

I'd much rather sit on the uhh seats of netting in a windowless, loud, cold C17 than a Stohl or any of the other smaller planes. All work and no play, somehow makes it far from dull.

I've not driven, but have ridden with people in a Hilux. Have seen some poor shift-work that's made me cringe, and been wondering if they just have abuse-tolerant clutches...

I'm on FOB Shank too... I've witnessed a few vehicles around the outer portions of the base completely ignore the bumps. Not sure if they're trying to have fun or aren't paying attention.

I'm out in the desert now at a frequently hit base and the Phalanx is pretty badass. They're far from being 100% effective but they seem to be doing a pretty good job so far this year. Quite loud, and very cool.
