Because, high lift often has some overlap between exhaust/intake which would allow some of the boost to blow through. May not be the case here, not sure, but with forced induction the high lift isn't as important.

Have only got to fly on one twice. Used to watch in awe when I worked right next to an airport where they'd fly these things, I assume, full of cargo.
