It’s not clear from this chart, but it is worth pointing out that if interest rates shoot up like they did in the early 80s, our budget (and government) is truly and utterly fucked.

It’s somewhat ironic that - in a country as rich as the US and as gung ho about every person doing useful work - we spend more giving money to people who work, but still can’t make enough to survive, than we give to the unemployed as a bridge to the next job.

Ahh, but can you send your ETA/tracking without allowing Waze to access all of your contacts and notify every single contact you have when you’re driving within range of one another?

How is it even possible that “The ball never gets snapped” is not the very first thing that gets discussed about the play? Every single team has a 4th-and-less-than-5 play where they line up and the QB hard counts to try and draw the other team offsides. The ball is never snapped. This really has WTF written all over

Yeah, but if you buy this right now, you may (and I say may) be disappointed when the Urbane v2 is released - presumably sometime soon. It’s a bit of a different beast - with it’s own LTE radio and SIM slot. If rumors are correct, at least one provider is in talks about providing a dupe SIM for owners so that their

Let’s hope it catches on. Voice/dictation is so much faster than typing on a touchscreen, even with the great keyboards. OTOH, it feels weird to use it with other people in the room.

I’m often disappointed in Google’s assistance. Usually I use Google Now when I’m not able to use my hands (i.e. driving) or just too lazy and down’t want to type. The problem is that Google Now often dumps you out in an app or a web search with no ability to continue your Now conversation. It’s been a while since I’ve

You notice that, with the exception of the snifter, that every single glass has properties which were selected without regard for the taste of the beer. Color, presentation, clink-ability, and manufacturing efficiency are tops for most of the glasses. a Couple aid in thick head formation which is, imho, primarily

One might argue, however, that that’s not really beer.

Time to get an update to this underway, Thorin - with LastPass being purchased by LogMeIn, I predict we have 6-12 months before they eliminate the free tier jack up the premium price by 10-15x. Maybe pass it off to @Alan Henry to do a Hive Five?

Not only does my wife not appreciate or even acknowledge the difference without prompting, she’s perfectly fine watching the old SD cable box composite out on the TV. Streched, not pillarboxed. Even on 16:9 programming that has top and bottom bars - she just stretches it. Looks fine to her.

To be fair, “new Android” means almost nothing. With multiple mfrs, new flagship phones roll out every month or two instead of once a year. And nobody but Nexus owners get Android OS updates in any kind of orderly fashion. There’s no “the new happens right now” in the A world.

If I ever travel out of the US, I’m buying a suitcase full of tshirts with red maple leaves on the front and sayings like “eh?” and “I love Canada” on the back.

If that chart is real, somebody has WAY to much fucking time on their hands.

All I could think of was:

How many of them included Titanium by David Guetta?

(Any Pitch Perfect fans out there? Anyone? Anyone?)

I’ve used unRaid for about 10 years. It’s reliable, extensible, low maintenance, and reasonably flexible. It’s neither free nor zero set up, though. (I’m decidedly not a linux user, and it’s built on slackware, so when I do have to tinker it takes me some searching.)

I can see the desire for neat if your server has to be visible. OTOH, I bought a $10 case, a good PS, and a good 5-in-3 hot-swap cage with circulation fans. The box (unRaid, fwiw) is hidden away with a UPS and a GigE connection. If I have a drive issue, they just pop out the front for easy access. If I have a software

Did you really just claim Apple was a hardware company? They make practically none of their hardware, except as 3D CAD models. They do well at integration and support*, though.

*If you live near an Apple store. If you don’t, it’s $100 for you to ship them their product and, once they get it, they’ll either fix it if

You’ve clearly never met a Honda owner. They make VW owners look brand-indifferent.
