Not only does my wife not appreciate or even acknowledge the difference without prompting, she’s perfectly fine watching the old SD cable box composite out on the TV. Streched, not pillarboxed. Even on 16:9 programming that has top and bottom bars - she just stretches it. Looks fine to her.

To be fair, “new Android” means almost nothing. With multiple mfrs, new flagship phones roll out every month or two instead of once a year. And nobody but Nexus owners get Android OS updates in any kind of orderly fashion. There’s no “the new happens right now” in the A world.

I’ve used unRaid for about 10 years. It’s reliable, extensible, low maintenance, and reasonably flexible. It’s neither free nor zero set up, though. (I’m decidedly not a linux user, and it’s built on slackware, so when I do have to tinker it takes me some searching.)
