To be fair, the only platformer they showed at E3 was Mario Maker, so that's something.

This just in: Retro stops work on a new Metroid game that was 60% complete and like Metroid Prime in every way except for having a larger scope and a different name in order to start a new Metroid Prime game from scratch.

Metroid is already on the way. Anyone who votes Metroid is just wasting their time.

Nah man, the right approach is when he's bowing, you get behind him, back stab him, and then spam wrath of god until he flies off a cliff.

I keep coming into these articles hoping not to have to watch a video to figure out what the X number of items are...

You know, I feel like tactically that Paper Mario has the edge on Super Mario RPG (which is relatively simple in terms of mechanics and progression), but I did tend to find myself more enamored with the world and the in-field play of Super Mario RPG. In my ideal world, they'd make a Super Mario RPG where you have a

Well, I'd suggest a more creative idea that would intuitively use the gamepad like some kind of world building game (ala Minecraft, but not Minecraft), but the only way to rally votes for something like this is... well, to suggest a sequel.

It's actually a British semi-slur for Americans. I know Southerners used it for Northerners for a while... like I don't know, fifty years ago, but that's not really the primary usage.

They want to see good games hampered by terrible controls.

Of course I have. As a Wii U owner I'd be stupid not to have gotten Mario Kart what with it coming with a free game and all... not to mention, it's Mario Kart. I just feel like I had a better time with SM3DW. Nothing against Mario Kart 8, but having come off the extremely good PC version of Sonic and All Stars

Well, more performant. I haven't heard anything about stability.

I don't think I was forgetting that Mario Kart 8 is fun. I just think 3DW was... well, a little more fun and a little more fresh.

Sure sure, but it's all cumulative.

Wiiiiiireshark.

I think that's assuming a display that incurs no lag as well. In practice most televisions range from 20ms to over 100ms in the case of displays that aren't optimized for gaming.

Speaking of optimal conditions, would you perhaps be willing to clarify some details about your connection in the article? Things like your typical ping times for common services like Google would be nice. Even better if you can get your ping time to the PSNow service.

I'm not even talking about from the perspective of a Wii U owner right now. I'm talking about in general... even if they were to just say 'oh, we aren't doing a console next generation, we'll just go multiplat instead, but we'll keep on being Wii U exclusive until PS5 comes around'. It still has the same basic

Sure, but I'm just saying that in my case and possibly in the cases of others who already have a Wii U, I'd probably skip some things on Wii U if I didn't feel like I needed Wii U games to play. Ditching their platform has consequences that go beyond simply the audiences available to play their games.

Perhaps, but it might just erode their notoriety until people stop thinking about them all together. I'm not sure I would buy all of the Nintendo games that I do if I didn't already have the sunk cost of their consoles that I feel that I need to justify.

Well, if you don't need to sell consoles, you are more likely to make games that are optimized to sell on their own. In that case, stuff that increases the appeal of a platform (due to increased variety) is out in favor of stuff that is known to sell large quantities.
