This is why I do not want to get into an accident with my 1996 Tbird with those terrible gen 1 airbags. If these new cars do badly I can't imagine how my old tank would hold up. The brochure at the time touted side intrusion beams as being novel...

I believe my dad rented not the eco but it was a 4cyl LT model and my dad complained so much the entire time. It could barely keep up on the highway and was always hunting for gears and when it would drop a gear to pass or go up a small hill it would be extremely violent.
I always know I'm home when the usual family sedan of mid spec BMW's and Mercedes in Toronto are replaced by lifted quad cab rig rockets. usually can spot one idling with a welder in the back and an orange flag tucked into the bed before even getting out of the airport.
The TTC convinced me that even driving downtown to go to work is faster and more reliable than streetcars and constantly delayed subway. 15-25 minute drive to the beach or almost an hour on transit. I tried TTC i really did.
Glad to see Ford isn't foolish enough to cancel the Raptor. Those things must have a huge profit margin and there are loads of them in truck crazy Alberta. Even in Toronto where you have to drive a couple hours to find off road I see them downtown amongst the super cars and luxury sedans.
yeah its definitely a niche thing. Good talking to you too there's still a few people up here rolling in style. But it's definitely becoming rare. These things are beasts
So fun and surprisingly very easy to let the rear go with just a throttle blip but it has to be really icy because yeah on dry pavement it doesn't budge.
Yep that all sounds about right hope its not too expensive i just had the wheel bearings fixed, door hinges repaired (damn heavy door) and a new power door lock actuator.
Yeah they're pretty bullet proof but not ideal for me now. I used to live in Alberta and its a great highway cruiser but now i live in Toronto and drive down town for work. Sitting in traffic with 8 cylinders firing is killing me. i have to chase down a clunking and groaning when i turn but the suspension pieces are…
Couldn't agree more! Still driving my 1996 Tbird I got at 16 and im now 23. Its not awesome but it works and when i finally get something i want it will be babied like my crap car has been. Only needing real repairs on wear out items beginning now not bad for a 17 year old car with questionable build quality.
I think the safety (as an excuse) and some stupid bumper height is what kept the MR2 Spyder out of Canada. But I saw one yesterday downtown Toronto so in the years since the grey market has satisfied the need.
The only thing that makes sense is MPV. My girlfriend who has never shown much interest in cars has taken a love for the USA forbidden fruit Mercedes Benz B class (which is extremely popular in Toronto) and she asked me what category I would put it in.
Sherwood park Alberta Chevy dealer
Is this in Sherwood Park Alberta? (just recognize the SmiliesVillage sign in the background) and the sea of trucks
Of course the Factory 5 Shelby Cobra kit car owners! Great group of people who all built their own unique machines. If something breaks since they built it they know how to fix it and share knowledge freely. My dad has made many great friends helping them build and attending car shows and organizing "Cobra runs"…
I love all the hate on the Citations as its probably well deserved. It was my dads first car a !981 Citation X-11 (and last GM car) it was replaced by Fords for 25 years after that. He said within 3 years the floors were rusting out and the doors were sagging and beginning to fall off. Not to mention the front…
one word "Safety" is to blame
how about a DB6 downtown Toronto. License plate "Mr Bond"
I'd say Canadians love AWD anything. There are a bunch in the prairies with oil money and i see them being DD in the city
A higher mileage real Bentley Conti GT can be had for like $60k . keep saving
