Yeah, I recently watched the movie for the first time, and while I loved nearly 99 percent of it. Then it just ends...... with him abandoning his family. The whole time he was walking up to the ship I kept thinking: What a fucking asshole.

I know you can. I've rewatched a lot of his reviews, love his Star Trek Movie Comic reviews.
NOT DEAD! NOT DEAD! NOT DEAD! I don't care if Oda said he is dead, I think that has to be pure BS. Come on, it is too perfect not to bring him back. I know the backstory sections of One Piece always have these people that die to propel the heroes, but Sabo seems way too big of a missing puzzle piece to not have him be…
And now all I want to do is watch Linkara rage(justifiably) about this in his Rise of Arsenal reviews.
Well, I'm only 22, so its a mixture of missing it at its height of popularity, and not having much of a chance to check it out. The most exposure to related Monty Python stuff would be a few Terry GIlliam films,Time Bandits and 12 Monkey's most notably, but not Holy Grail. And it isn't like I have an aversion to…
I'm completely fine with FOX keeping the X-Men, X-2 and First Class are among my top 10 of comic book movies, and Days of Future Past looks awesome! Plus, the X-Men franchise is big enough to sustain its own universe really. Also, Avengers vs X-Men has really turned me off to wanting to see the X-Men in the marvel…
Correction: Aqua TV Show Show has a BOOTIFUL intro.
Okay, true, they do try to explain it.... I forget about it, not because I thought it was stupid(which it is), just that I didn't really care about. But for the most part, Star Wars thankfully doesn't try to explain much other things.
It is still set in space though. Just because you can transplant it elsewhere doesn't negate what actually happened. It still has droids, it still has clones, intergalatic armies, speeder bikes, the death star.
I actually hate technobabble, I really don't care how it works. I love Star Trek a lot, but whenever they try to explain anything I just have to roll my eyes, and it feels like a waste of time more than anything. Technobabble doesn't really make it anymore believable to me, just highlights how much bullshit it is.…
Yeah, the science is pretty much magic and they don't do anything at all to justify or explain it's existence. But a lot of other science fiction franchises pretty much have science that is "magic". The difference is those franchises try to use technobabble to explain there stuff and make it seem real, where Star Wars…
I do have blind spots in my pop culture knowledge. Monty Python just happens to be one of them. I do feel shame for that.
I'm nothing more than a simple man who has used the powers of "teh internetz" to fulfill my appetite in the ways of sci-fi nerd-dom.
I do consider it a space opera, which is a subgenre of Sci-fi.
Let's get the big daddy out of the way, Star Wars. Science-Fiction, or a Fantasy in space? You be the judge. I personally think it is just the lightest you can get with Sci-fi, and it counts.
You had a much calmer reaction than I.
I know that each new movie could be his last, I was trying to make that point in my comment without making it sound crass. But that is why I'm fine with him doing what he wants, even if the end product isn't up to par with my expectations. And quite honestly, Ponyo and Howl's Moving Castle would not be disappointments…
I would say Alien is a horror movie first, sci-fi movie second. The main gist of the movie is a bunch of people in one space being stalked and killed like they are prey. HOWEVER, it is a sci-fi setting, it has sci-fi tropes, and the main villain is literally an alien.
Well the guy has been making films for around 35 years now, and at his age I don't know how many more films he has left in him. I hope he makes one more epic fantasy like Princess Mononoke, but I'm fine if he wants to do something different. He's earned the right to make whatever kind of film he wants.
Love this movie, it is my favorite comedy of all time, and immensely rewatchable.
