I have a Nikon D5100, one of the listed DSLRs. Truth be told, it's such a precision device I really wouldn't want to DIY fix this thing. I don't feel fixability (is that even a legitimate word?) of SLR bodies should be compared to that of laptops and portable media players.

I actually do this with my openwrt router: the DNS server (DNSMasq) points all domains known to host ads to an IP address (really just a virtual interface on the router) that runs Pixelserv, a tiny server that returns a 1x1 GIF. The result is pageloads are fast (as ads don't time out) and none of the devices in my

This. The Belgian way is frying in two steps, which results in nice crispy gold-ish fries.

I find it beneficial: it indicates you wanted to respond at your earliest opportunity and explains why your response was brief and not as detailed as you wished it were.

That's a useful watchface, do you happen to know if it's made to work with smartwatch+ only? (replaced my iPhone with a Nexus a few months ago)

Congratulations, you're a real hero, as your post history makes clear. Please keep up the good work of solving aids, world hunger, poverty and corruption with trollposts. You deserve the congressional gold medal for your efforts.

Cobbler, stick to thy last. The pollution argument is complete BS, Google is actually paving the way in zero carbon by building efficient systems for its infrastructure, using renewable energy and compensating what cannot be physically reduced. Their data centers are a prime example of that.

If you truly care so much

Perhaps it worked so smooth because of low load (only one console connected), or it has to be connected to a compatible cablebox? The specs said HDMI in/out, so I would guess the HDMI input would be used for something like that. I can't imagine any other purpose for HDMI in on a game console, short of HDMI 1.4

VOTE: Nexus 4
Androidphones as they should be: fair price, good specs, unlocked bootloader and preloaded with the stock OS.

Using cyanogenmod + Franco Kernel on my nexus 4 and nexus 7. It started with cyanogenmod giving me better battery life on my nexus 7, so then I slapped it on my nexus 4 too. Next up came Franco Kernel for both devices, because it had lots of positive reviews on both performance and battery life improvements.

No need to buy an expensive new phone if you're using an iPhone 4 or older?

Depends from user to user. I at most plug in an extra monitor, a network cable and one USB hub with all my other devices plugged in to it (ie mouse, proper keyboard, usb-headset,...)

Though nowadays I just use Synergy to make use of my desktop's mouse & kb on the laptop through a network connection.

Don't compare a desktop setup to a dock, a device which is meant to be used with a notebook. Your occupation makes no difference in this whatsoever. Using a dock means easy hotplugging of multiple devices while retaining mobility.

If you truly believe AppleTV and Boxee are much better than a homemade HTPC with XBMC, Plex or whatever, I feel sorry for your wallet. With DRM you don't "own" the content like you would with a CD or DVD. You just own the rights to view the content through a very limited set of means. Furthermore, DRM-protected

Are security/antivirus apps for Android really worth installing? One says they're just crapware draining your battery, the other says you should definitely install one. Anyone care to share experiences with these apps?

So interchangeable visors, but what about people needing prescription glasses? Will it or a future version be available for corrective glasses?

Nope, you're absolutely right. Seeing native speakers having such slip-ups always saddens me.

Could you point us to said APK?

I've got a tag on the lower claw of my car mount. I just swipe the phone onder the mount before putting it between those clamps to autostart my gps app, enable car mode, set the brightness to fixed 100% and increase the volume.

I've also got one stuck on my router (same color so only if you inspect it closely you'd see
