Yes, but those 'services' are downplayed against the games. They are exist if you want to use them but most people who own a Wii U also have cable TV and Internet, some of them even have Internet-enabled TVs (a commonplace today) that can connect to Netflix - Heck... DVD and Blu-Ray people.
