When reached for comment, a heated LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said the following:

Anyone with enough money, can pay to climb Everest

Dammit, math is hard. 100 out of 10,000 is a 1% mortality rate.

Near as I can tell, about 1000 people attempt it and 500 succeed every year. Over 100 people have died on Mount Everest since 2006, including 6 this year. That is a around 10% mortality rate among all people who try. Maybe K2 is harder, but I think you and I have a different definition of “novelty.”

I see what you’re saying and I’ve watched the documentaries on Netflix regarding what a shit show it’s become. However, my parents did ~half of it when they were in their 50s and still extremely good shape (Mom is now in late 50s and ran the Boston Marathon 2 years ago) and they said it was absolutely fucked how

in this one documentary, the sherpas are literally clipping your climbing gear on the rope for you — all you have to do is to lift up your feet.

Not to take anything away from anyone that has summited Everest, but

i feel like this is pretty well known at this point, no?

whatever. She still won the popular slope.

I watched the Michael Bradley goal on youtube and now all of my suggested videos are just “highlights” of Rik Smits.

I used to have a buddy who wherever we would go he’d say, “This sucks, it’s boring, let’s go somewhere else.” In all my years knowing him, not once did he not find anything boring. I’d like to say he finally had a personal revelation that it was he who was the insufferably boring one, but sadly it wasn’t so, as he

I thought Arena Football was supposed to be high scoring.

Now they have to pay for the wall. That’s how this works, right?

If a girl I was dating INSISTED I take a shower in that situation when I am tired and don’t feel like I have to shower, I’d consider ending that relationship. You’re in for a lot more nonsense like that in the future. I mean, really, it’s a god damn hotel. The shower is probably dirtier than I am.

Haha, yes. But the biggest barrier to learning is emotional ;)

Exactly – it's a method for learning something new, and going from knowing absolutely nothing to performing reasonably well. Once you make it through the early frustrations, it's easier to keep going.

There's an old saying: "Jack of all trades, but master of none... is oftentimes better than master of one."

Better to learn many things well than 1 thing perfectly.

There's nothing saying you can't keep practicing or learning any skill.
