I love Black Mirror. I think it's one of the best things I've seen on TV, certainly recently. But there's what? 7 episodes? And for all the cult love for it, it's not any kind of mainstream hit, which something like WWZ would have to be since it deals with bigger set pieces. My point is, anthology shows haven't really

I thought soliciting a prostitute Im D.C. was called lobbying.

I'm not entirely sure even a TV series would work, not without the continuity of characters (which is basically what the movie did) . Maybe if the interviewer was the main character? I think even doing it as a faux Ken Burns style documentary would get tiresome once the novelty wears off. Ultimately, it seems like

Its how you survive Don Johnson.

A producing credit can mean a lot of things, yes. I was responding to the OP's comment about Carpenter directing making it worthwhile. Also, there was another article I read that said it's a good thing he's involved as a producer (Carpenter tweeted about it last night).. I was just trying to get at the point that

Even if John Carpenter were directing, I wouldn't care. The guy's completely tapped out. Has been for years. I had a friend who worked on the Fog remake, and though he was credited as a producer, he really wasn't involved. Apparently, he only showed up to look at a cut, hated it, but his whole attitude was "Hey, my

Not defending his resume, but I tend to think the smug, humorlessness of Eli and After Earth more likely comes from the Hughes Bros. and Shaymalan, especially given THEIR resumes.

When I was his age, my hair grew like weed, so I don't think this means much, except the "no haircut" clause is funny.

I think I read somewhere (Entertainment Weekly?) where they said Hamm wasn't necessarily on the producer's minds when they wrote the episode, but he was such a big fan of the show, he lobbied for them to change the character to an American.

Yeah, I was totally surprised to see the actor who played Maister Luwin from Game of Thrones in the first episode, along with the guy who played Branson the chauffeur in Downton Abbey. Then another Downton actor in "15 Million Merits".

Entire History of You and Be Right Back were my two favorites. I thought the former was a cross between Scenes From A Marriage and Eternal Sunshine, and pulled that weird mix off entirely . I hope Robert Downey Jr.'s film version doesn't turn it into some odd Strange Days-type conspiracy story. And Be Right Back was,

I assume it'll be on Netflix soon. Black Mirror also has their own YouTube channel where they posts all the episodes, though in lower resolution than Netflix. But you can check back there in a few, I guess.

Not only is The Hobbit just a self indulgent mess by a director who appears creatively adrift without Tolkien, as far as medieval fantasy goes, Game of Thrones is just eating Jackson's lunch.

Guess we can count on Scott to try and remake Gladiator every other film now.

Everything you said is why I'm glad the Giants didn't land him. They definitely need pitching ( I assume Bumgarner can't pitch every game) but these contracts suck the soul out of a team. Just ask the Yankees, Angels, and Dodgers.

As a Giants fan, I'm worried that Cain may never be worth that contract now. However, the difference here is that Cain's already won 2 WS for them, and that big contract is partly a reward for work already done, which I'm good with. The Dodgers gave Kershaw more money and he can't even produce in the post season.

Would Magic throw games if he were still playing? Doubt it. I hope the Lakers suck forever.

Since D&D known Martin's ending they're not going off the reservation and just wing it. Benioff has already stated that Martin's ending is "completely satisfying". Also, there's a great fan theory floating around on Reddit forums. It's so brillant and fitting, I'd be bummed if it wasn't like that.

I'm gonna guess that Goyer wasn't "in control" of Nolan's Dark Knight films.

By that logic, why ever make a historical film? Why make The Day of the Jackal since we know DeGaulle wasn't assassinated. Why make Titanic since we know the boat sinks. Stories aren't just about how they end; they're also about how we get there.
