I always put Texas in the same boat as Georgia, the Democrats’ White Whale. It always seems good until election day when voters come home. That said, I can’t imagine how anyone votes for Ted Fucking Cruz.

The set up is identical to Interstellar and the payoff is Event Horizon (which was  itself a horror version of Solaris) or Sunshine. Maybe GRRM twists it around a la Game of Thrones, but this seems like it’s built from spare parts of other genre attempts. 

I’m not a fan of late night talk shows, but her’s is really good. Not much talk, mostly comedy bits. It’s also a quick watch, too, if you have limited time.

I think it had to do with it being a different medium: Repetition in TV (or film) is more noticeable than in books, especially really long ones.
