If you can hold off another 4 months, I'd recommend going directly to the Ruby/Sapphire remakes. GameFreak tends to skimp on features at the start of each gen, and X/Y follows the pattern.

edit: whoops, replied to wrong thread. Anyways, sorry to heart that HG/SS prices have skyrocketed. I picked up my spare last year, after getting a tip from a fellow player to search the store inventories of Target stores (after they'd been delisted, there was still backroom stock). I highly doubt there's anything

Stealing Pokemon carts should be punishable by death.

Pokemon following behind you. Nuff said.

It's a serious issue everywhere, but in work-related software, you'd either put up with it or hand off a task to someone else. In games, it's a major buzzkill.

I remember reading about that. It squashes its prey with its enormous bulk, then eats it with the mouth on its stomach. Yet another reason why Metagross is a perfect being.

Final Smash: Bees

Great. Now I just need to go out and recruit the biggest scumbags to my side. :D Tankers, status inflicters, a guy with 6 magikarps - whatever works.

Listening material obtained. :D

Congrats.

Normal odds: 1/8192. Expected encounters for a shiny prior to X/Y: 8192, possible two or three times that many.

Most legendaries, possibly all of them, are "shiny locked" in X/Y, so you can't get them, short of hacking them or porting them up from previous games. I don't understand Gamefreak's reasoning, but there you have it.

Hats off to anyone who can stand the full 1/8192 odds. I've only pulled it off once. The rest of the time, I go with "easy mode" Black 2/White 2 with shiny charm.

Absolutely not. Gimme smokescreens, pitfalls, rock traps, the works.

I want deathtraps in my secret base.

Okay, now I want Miss Piggy to handle the dub voice for Monokuma. ._.

I encountered smaller-scale versions of the puzzle as a child- they were part of some exercises used to test for "gifted" children. Wait a minute... did I play a round of the Nonary Game without realizing it? My apologies to anyone I inadvertently got killed. -_-;;

Sshhh! That last puzzle was such a huge surprise kick in the ass, I decided it wasn't worth solving at 4-5 am, so I faq'ed it so I could finally get some sleep.

Yep, there comes a point where any other word choice is dancing around the subject.

It's impossible not to compare the two. For me, the point of Danganronpa wasn't the mysteries (which are structured to make sure you can actually solve them... no missable clues), it was trying to nudge the survivors into not losing their collective shit.
