I appreciate that argument. I didn’t think they did the legwork to really show Kong’s character as much as tell it during expository down time I can see someone finding something in that.

Ok thank you for your very cool and friendly contribution. I’m sorry that saying I thought Skull Island wasn’t a good movie made me out to be an elitist jackass (seeing as that was all there was to react to).

I disagree and think movies for larger audiences can be much smarter and more original but you’re free to like it. Saying that there are only Oscar movies and really dumb characterless movies is doing the medium a disservice.

I’m amazed how upset I made people. The movie had no characters to speak of, very little story other than random snippets of nonsense plot, and a couple moments of fun action. The majority of important things you can chalk up to a director (i.e. performances) were mishandled terribly.

Was going to post the very same thing. He keeps going on about all the anime and game references in the film, and it just comes off as desperate pandering in the hopes people will consider him for their next big “nerd” project.

If only he’d spent a little less time copying images from other sources and a little more making a good movie...
