Umm, being $100k, this is going to be made and purchased in limited numbers. It will be purchased by those who want a summer car or as a second car. This isn’t a DD.

Hmm I’ll just have to wait until the Chicago Autoshow to take a peak.

Huh, interesting. Looking at it like that (thanks by the way), I think it’s the fact the glass wraps around the rear of the Cruze where as the Volvo doesn’t. It really through me off.

1. It’s the mentality, my friend. You don’t have to own one but you sure think like one that does.

So you are compensating for something.

Really? Someone buying this will drive the hell out of it? Just like people drive the hell out of their LF-A? This isn’t an IS or GS...

COTD

I curious to know if you can actually speak for the demographic or if you bought an ES and think you’re high and mighty.

And how many $100k toy cars do you own?

I’m coming from a previous gen Golf. That thing is huge. That’s what I’m looking for in a hatch. But, then again, that might be more wagon than hatch. Idk. Seems like a waste to me to cut that much out of the back.

When you’re spending 100k on a toy, who cares. Certainly not Ferrari/Lambo/Porsche buyers or those companies wouldn’t be in business.

Very true. I’m used to a previous gen Golf that, I feel, has a lot more usable space. That thing feels like it can swallow a whale.

This looks exactly my rear of my friends Mazda3 (brand new). I was looking at it and ask him if he enjoyed the extra space of the hatch. He said “yeah” with a look on his face. He said it’s nice but it’s not all the function.

True. I’ll give it that. You have more room to load but it doesn’t give you any additional cargo capacity to put taller items. Essentially limiting you to things you’d carry in a sedan anyways.

So form over function? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose hatches were made? I’m telling you, my friend has a Mazda3 with a hatch shape close to this. It’s pass-through area you speak of is marginal at best...

Amen. It seems like all “hatchbacks” are now turning into these sportback type cars. Which sucks for the reason I stated. Yes, it’s better than a sedan but only slightly. Don’t get me wrong, I love hatches. I wish we had more! But you’re right. The real world solver would be wagons. Sigh...

Fake truck? You’re one of those compensating for something, aren’t you?

Man, if I had a dollar every time I heard truck owners talk about all the things they put in their truck bed, I’d be a billionaire... wouldn’t even need the lottery.

The only problem is that hatch area is completely useless. What happened to the days of proper hatchbacks? What advantage does this give me that I should want to own this over a sedan?

Cool counter-argument. This is all show, no balls. Soo why spend $100k on it?
