I’ve loved that, and her stoicism. The original lady in the original Shogun was quite good, but Anna Sawai is definitely better.

This entire show she’s done that! And she definitely gives the best “you need to shut the fuck up” look while barely moving her face that I’ve ever seen.
I think Julia Garner could have made a fantastic Frankie Raye, a different herald of Galactus than the Silver Surfer. Forcing the actress into a different role - effectively deleting Norrin Radd from the MCU before he could get there - feels like an unforced error.
“Born in Pennsylvania, Flaherty began his career at Second City in Chicago, working alongside comedy legends like John Belushi, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, Chevy Chase, Brian Doyle-Murray, and Harold Ramis.”
I have a funny feeling Ishido’s large bamboo vessel resembling ship that was anchored at the beach would be blown to smithereens by cannons on board Blackthorne’s The Erasmus
This was another wonderful episode. The show does a great job of foregrounding women, and the different ways they can exert influence in this particular patriarchy without lapsing into ahistoricism. I miss that discount Dean Wormer guy.
He is genuinely just fantastic in everything he does. One of our best working actors.
Hair down to his goddamn shoulders...
Dafoe in the Lighthouse was a revelation. Best nautically-themed role for him since The Life Aquatic.

“Who Are You” can come across like a novelty song if you don’t pay attention to the lyrics and just focus on the chorus. The song is fantastic.
Super ugly. She was my moms favorite artist, I learned that only after she died. Both Sides Now is a song I always reflect on the meaning, something is lost and gained in living every day indeed. Circle Game is my emotional release valve, play the notes and I’m a mess.
you were not alone!
I cried while watching a film of her actual post-aneurysm debut, at the 2022 Newport Folk Festival.
Three to four years? You expect the shareholders to wait three to four YEARS for their ROI?
I listened to a lot of ‘oldies’ radio growing up in the 80s and didn’t know who the Spinners were but now I know they had about a billion hits. Great stuff.
Is this going to be Marvel’s Andor? Looks good so far.
No qualms with the list itself, but I would have preferred a 16-bracket with the following as well:
