Not all motorcycle riding is the same. Not everyone is riding a liter bike in the canyons. Sometimes we just take the scooter across town. There are situations where a helmet is overkill. Look at Asia, they don’t wear helmets there.

I’m just trying to point out that the helmet mandate is political and not about saving lives.

Let’s commission a study to find out if helmets in cars save lives since you doubt the obviousness of it.

So what’s the percent of accidents where injury would be prevented by wearing a helmet vs not wearing a helmet - in cars that is? If more lives are saved by wearing a helmet in a car, we should mandate them right?

Maybe the state should deem that motorcycles are too inherently dangerous and for everyone’s safety should be banned?

And people still die with all those safety features. If they wore helmets, we could further reduce the carnage.
