This is among the most surprisingly well written things I've stumbled across on Kotaku. It's both detailed and succinct, covering the salient points without belaboring them, and manages social commentary as well as insightful feedback for the game developers. I can only say that I hope they change their game, as I

And why didn't the ball make it to Crabtree? Oh, right.

Le Batard's heroics and now Clark the Cub's balls. Deadspin is now 2-0 in the media-on-media coverage this week.

9.7 seconds. I clocked that cartoon bear penis on the air for 9.7 seconds. I checked four times because I was sure I was doing it wrong, but within a tenth each time, there it is. For most packages (groan) that's enough time for three different b-roll shots. Not here, friends. We want nearly 10 seconds of graphic

Great article Tim. I would go one further and say that MLB and the Commissioner's Office specifically targeted A-Rod with the reasons you discussed above in mind. Rodriguez is the perfect test case for this strategy, because he probably did it and is nearly universally despised by fans, the media, and other players

Great work, Tim.

Well, that's a pretty foolish and shortsighted way to look at the situation. And, as a matter of fact, your comment assumes point 1 without having any evidence. Which makes your points 2 and 3 worthless. Which was only the entire point of the article you commented upon. Either you didn't bother reading the article,

When did the union agree to 162 game, 65 game or whatever other penalties were issued? When did the union agree to not being allowed to argue the veracity of the evidence against a player? The arbitrator essentially stated that the evidence was valid because MLB said so, while leaving no viable way to challenge that.

Isn't everybody's war on drugs an immoral shitshow?

Selig be like...

The striking thing to me about the whole episode, is that MLB essentially played out the entire affair in the court of public opinion, constant timely leaks always appearing when needed, while the player's union went along with it. The union seemed more concerned with public opinion than representing it's members.

College football hasn't been the same without the Cougs good enough to truly Coug it. All is right in the universe again.

Try again, genius. It's a club team, but that's what I was referring to:

NFLPA rep: What are you going to do about Darnell's pay?

Definitely LSD.

For those wondering, this is the correct pronounciation.

The Ryan Leaf origin story.

I am actually really impressed with the ballsiness of this. Well done.

I am having a hard time controlling myself as well. Both my animals have a billion nicknames that all evolved from gibberish rhyming or strange associations that only I and my husband will understand.
