Or you can just save yourself a whole lot of time, money and frustration and choose a game with less predatory monetization.

A friend of mine once asked me what Final Fantasy Tactics was like.

Now that Steam is doing this for them, maybe those annoying, desperate developers will stop commenting on every single negative review as if they can somehow prove a person’s personal opinion is wrong and evil.

All those Fantasy Flight Lovecraft games are basically the reason I don’t like board games anymore. They are all terrible, yet there’s always at least one friend who’s deeply in love with the setting, so the rest of us just have to pretend we’re not bored out of our minds.

Thank you for the reminder that Activision is the main reason Blizzard sucks so much right now. Not that it matters much, since they can’t really be separated at this point, and Activision will always be in charge and will always make decisions that make it impossible for Blizzard to do what they need to do.

At some point during Burning Crusade, I decided to make a guild in which the members would level up together. We had exactly one rule: Your character in this guild is not to be played at any time other than designated guild-play nights. Crafting is OK, but use your other alts if you want to solo.

Those moves look pretty generic to me. I’m not convinced the YouTuber’s act is all that original to begin with.

The first one is terrible, and the second one is only slightly better.

There is something seriously, disastrously wrong with that guy’s package.

“I will now interrupt my very important opinion about ranch dressing to point out that I do not care about your opinion of my passion for sour cream.”

If people would stop insisting on abbreviating every damned thing, no one would have to see these stupid arguments.

It’s common for people to think their actions matter, or to want their actions to matter, but sometimes that’s just not the case.

Corollary: Batman also sucks and is boring.

The difference, of course, is that South Park makes more money when they shit on China, and the others make less.

Instead of lambasting Blizzard, can we not just celebrate Mr. Chung’s bravery? It’s very likely that he knew this would be the outcome, yet he chose to take a stand anyway. That’s worthy of applause.

That’s the thing about altruism, or even having a strong conscience at all. You never know what evil you’re enabling with your senseless acts of kindness.

Apple exclusive? Then it’s dead to me. DEAD.

Dragon Quest XI has it right as far as I’m concerned. You can make items you actually want to use, and for the most part they don’t become obsolete right away. You can improve items (even ones that aren’t craftable), but only to a fixed limit. And the crafting minigame requires a tiny bit of thought, but nothing like

I played the demo on Switch, and then promptly purchased the game on PS4. The graphics are much, much, MUCH better.

If Kotaku were a Japanese video game publisher, we’d be up to our eyebrows in cries of “OMG CENSORSHIP” even though the edits and apology were completely voluntary.
