Lol, create a new product with mostly cheap parts, use a rather slow-selling category as a reference point, and boom, you got a beat.
no DSG, no deal ... sorry VW
the worst part is the bit... sorry ... the lady commenting on it ... do yourself a favor and watch it with muted audio
it’s comedy, and it’s from a men’s tv channel ... and it’s awesome

You have to choose: do you want the luxury of a fun engaging ride, or do you want to save money? I completely understand that some people may not have great financial resources, and a Corolla may be a fine car for those people. Even then, many people seem to cheapen out on maintenance and especially tires. It’s beyond…
VW sales are up, so apparently, it’s working.
We are talking about a $20k car here. Divide by 6. Gives you 3,333. So even if your car exploded at the 6 year mark, it would have cost you 3,333 per year or $270 a month, excluding gas/insurance of course. Maybe some oil change cost if you cannot haggle prepaid service in. Sounds like a reasonable amount of money.…
I can see that. Well, the Jetta is just overall a cheapened out VW. I really wouldn’t recommend it. I also don’t understand why so many people want leather.
And the old 5 cylinder was so great because you could run it on normal...
Ah ok. So an ideal automaker will just make flawless cars, don’t sell any, but show you 20 years later that they would have worked without a single defect. Then, in year 21, they could start selling you a car, right?
they kept that principle with the 45 AMG turbo 4 engine ... somewhat strange to give it up with an I6 ...
Is that a real question? Tesla, of course.
irony?
The old (current) Jetta isn’t great, but that’s not a secret. Not mqb yet, but instead based on a much older design, cheapened out for the US market. There have been just very few ‘true’ VWs in the US lineup: Golf, GTI, CC, Touareg. The Jetta was an old cheapened and stretched version of the old EU spec. The Passat a…
Had that one as well, zero issues over the 3 years I owned it. And I pushed it hard.
That’s just nonsense. Across 3 of my VWs and 5 additional in the family, I haven’t noticed any degradation in the interior. In fact, after years they’d look better than a brand new Toyota. If people fucking eat in their cars and splash fat, coke and whatnot around the car, sure, it may look beaten up. But any…
You know the lemon laws, right? So that’s really a bogus claim. Besides, there isn’t much to back up these ‘unreliable’ claims. Worldwide, all mqb cars taken together are probably the best selling car platform. While I wouldn’t bet on those turbos to last 20 years, you will usually get at least 3 completely trouble…
Why keep a car so long? With proper service, I wouldn’t be concerned, but most dealership places don’t instill a lot of confidence.... Also, there are tons of really old VWs on US roads ... but one should be forward looking instead of looking back at old reputations
