I think it depends on your role. My husband is in commissioned sales and has unlimited PTO. It’s good for him because he can manage his own business and not have to ask for days off, but he’s also not going to abuse it because if he’s not working, he’s hurting his paycheck.

Exactly! In fact there is a bus stop at that mall.

I know a girl who went on a date with him... that is not what he actually looks like. Apparently his online pics are several years old. She said he was super creepy and she had to block his number.

OMG, his twitter now says he’s going to be on Jimmy Kimmel tonight... please tell me this isn’t true??

Well, this was in Austin, so he couldn’t get an uber. :-) But yes, we have other ridesharing services and taxis. It’s not that big of a city... they were at a southwest/central mall... I can’t imagine he was *too* far away from wherever he lives.

One minor clarification - This incident happened at an AMC theater at the mall. The theater that is offering a gift certificate is a separate theater chain - Alamo Drafthouse - which is known for their strict no texting policy.

It’s almost like they’re trying to get another lawsuit filed against them. Maybe at this point they’re trying to break a record to become legendary.

This. I eat so many avocados (I’m in TX) that you really get a sense for knowing when they’re the right ripeness for eating by picking them up and gently squeezing them. Then I slice it in half. I actually have a specialized utensil for scooping out the avocado that’s kind of a cross between a butter knife and spoon

I just read that! Wish she would have written the article as a warning instead of after it blew up.

What I can’t figure out was why they didn’t cancel it before people got there.... the organizers had to know it wasn’t going to magically come together at the 11th hour. Well they did advertise that it was an instantgramable event, and that part was successful...

I’m sure you were (and still are) IT. :-)

Omg same here! But we called them bodysuits back then. Does anyone remember the store Units? I totally rocked their mix and match belts (think a cummerbund made out of tshirt material available in all different colors) and jersey skirts with my bodysuits.

5-7-9 went out of business? What are you going to tell me next, there’s no more Contempo Casuals?

While I agree this ad is THE WORST, you have to admit it was successful. They tricked all of your readers into watching it. If we had just ignored it, it could have gone away on its own. I think we should stop looking for things to be faux-raged by and save our energy on things that actually deserve outrage and

Lamar Smith is my rep and has been in office since 1987. Yes, that will be 30 years this year. So it’s really only around 23k/yr.

I know you probably won’t see this since I’m #forevergray, but I just had to comment on how much I appreciate this article. It articulates so much of how I feel but better than I could have ever said it. Thank you for writing it.

As a Longhorn, it pains me to defend an Aggie tradition, but that’s not a thumbs up. It the sign for ‘Gig ‘em’ and they’ve been doing it for over 100 years. That’s why both candidates are in that same pose.

It’s not really a thumbs up... it’s their college hand sign that means ‘Gig ‘em’. I just realized how that still probably doesn’t make sense, but as a Longhorn it’s like what we do when we give the ‘Hook ‘em’ sign. \m/
