I thought she’d had a leg amputated, also? Feels morbid to google.
I thought she’d had a leg amputated, also? Feels morbid to google.
She acted with Ginger Rogers, was directed by John Huston, slapped a cop, married nine times (once for one day!) and and in case that’s not enough, her sister married her ex-husband, the Academy Award winner George Sanders (can you imagine those Thanksgiving dinners? Pass the peas, pass the husband). I can’t wait…
I always thought she was immortal. I’m sad that one of my grandma’s favorite style icons has passed.
JFC Lauren, you’re missing sooo many interesting parts!
Her daughter tried to intervene, but got nowhere. She died last year.
I saw someone on a local news channel say that, too. No way! No comparison at all! Mind you the newscaster was quite young and had probably never even heard of Zsa Zsa before today.
Ha ha. Make up!
She was also of a time period when being a socialite was considered a positive thing and a sign that a woman had power and influence. I don’t know if it’s a proper term for much younger women, who can often be described as businesswomen, designers, or entertainers, but I don’t know that it’s inappropriate for women…
“Gabor died from a heart attack on Saturday after five years on life support.”
Damn, 2016, you’re just going to take it to the limit like this? Just keep on giving us BS up until December 31st at 11:59pm? Okay, I see you, 2016.
RIP.
You’re missing the dirt here: Okay, her last husband is a former pimp and brothel owner who bought a fake princely title with his pimp money.
She’d been making fun of being a socialite since her time at finishing school in Switzerland. She was very good at it. (Someone has to be.)
The difference between Zsa Zsa and people like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian and all those types is that Zsa Zsa was outspoken and entitled back when it was socially taboo- Women were expected to act a certain way back then, and to proudly go around bragging about marrying and divorcing rich, getting attention just…
The most fab Zsa Zsa story: Once I had occasion to be in her house in Bel Air. She had so many clothes that she installed a mechanical clothing rack (the type you see at the dry cleaners). It brought the clothes from the closet whooshing into her bedroom without her having to move, dahlink!
The key was that Zsa Zsa and the women like her never took themselves very seriously. The wit too is timeless. I think the problem with Kim and Kylie (and I’m actually a big fan of both) is that they believe their own hype.
WTF noooooo
One of the other sites was comparing her to Kimmy K. NOPE.
I feel like comparing her to Paris Hilton isn’t quite fair; Zsa Zsa may have been a socialite but she knew what she was about! She had a level of self-awareness that is uncommon in Hollywood, both then and now. The rest of us can only aspire to such wit and fablulousness.
There aren’t many women left who can rock a feather boa like Zsa Zsa did.
