‘Cause not only does Jezebel know nothing about his historical importance, they can't even spell the man's name.

What the fuck was this clown doing at Cannes? What does he actually do?!
Filed to: Muhammed Ali??
Yeah, and this moment from the Atlanta Olympics is a great reminder that everyone thought he was the greatest:
This is, appropriately, a knockout.
If you want to learn a new random fact about Ali, here is an interesting article about his friendship with Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings. (This must be an especially rough year for Kristofferson).
This? This is what I’ve been waiting for. Fuck you, 22nd Amendment.
Oh!, I see. Thank you for the clarification. And we’re on agreement that news of his death doesn’t belong here.
Oh my God, this is just lovely. How anyone can think the Trumpster Fire has any business replacing this man in the White House is beyond me.
I read a little book filled with Ali’s greatest quotes, and he was so witty and eloquent, but my favourite and I think the most beautiful and eloquent (and heart breaking) is about why he refused to fight the Viet Cong. It was so simple and so right.
For what it’s worth, the President and First Lady’s statement on Muhammad Ali is gorgeous and well worth reading:
If you can find it, there is an amazing documentary called “When We Were Kings,” about the Rumble in Jungle. Most of the film follows Ali during the lead up to the fight, and the footage is amazing. I hope someone will show it as a tribute, because it really shows so many of the facets of Ali’s incredible personality.
Referencing to the Lucille Richards post was for all those who would have argued that jezebel is a gossip site and that I should go to deadspin for all things sport.
Putting Ali next to child pornographers and abusers in something called a ‘dirtbag’ is the belitteling part in all of this.
ok, to be fair, kesha’s butt did give me a ZING, but yes, ali was important and need not be mentioned among the likes of these buttholes LITERALLY
Why in a dirt bag, next to an indicted child pornography peddler, some celebrity nobodies who have split and a convicted domestic abuser?
Over the years, I’ve seen a number of high-profile deaths get relegated to Jezebel’s “Dirt Bag” column and, like many other commenters, have been left scratching my head while quietly cursing the insufficient respect shown.
I dunno, Ali’s death is buried in a dirtbag on jezebel, while the death of a woman who once played baseball for a hot minute gets its own post. They were both sports figures, one was one of the greatest athletes of all times, the other was well known to her family and friends. Guess who received a hero’s farewell on…
I will never forget how pretty or how bad of a man you were.
