Not only did Trudeau answer the ISIS question, he also took a question about the Supreme Court ruling on Métis rights that had been handed down the previous day.

That’s my reaction, too. Besides, simple math tells me the “blessed event” occurred two weeks ago yesterday, which is not that big a deal. Or, at least, it shouldn’t be.

Plus, Laurie Levenson and, lest we forget, Star Jones.

From what I understand, Lester Pearson had a rather “endearing” way about him — slight lisp included — but was smart as a whip and had the non-combat wartime work experience to know what he was talking about. He really was a great Canadian and it’s no wonder he made the Top Ten on “The Greatest Canadian”.

What I remember most about “The Greatest Canadian” was what first-rate programming it was, so much so that it even appealed to elementary school kids. (My son was totally fixated on it). I would have been quite fine had Lester Pearson won but I also understood why Tommy Douglas ended up coming out on top.

That’s something that’s baffled me, too, to be perfectly honest. I’ve read an interview where Lucy DeCoutere described how her lawyer spelling out to her what to expect, courtroom layout-wise, once she took the stand but beyond that, it’s hard to tell what victim-preparation was done.

I realize — and accept — that they don’t. That was a matter-of-fact statement on my part, primarily meant to justify why the accusers would be prompted to hire their own legal counsel.

I think your points are valid. Lester B. Pearson earned tremendous respect — and a Nobel Peace Prize — for resolving the Suez Crisis but, ironically, it’s only Trudeau père who could match, or possibly even outmatch, Justin Trudeau, charisma-wise.

Also rather cool, at least to the Montréalers and McGill University alumni in the house:

This was the first meme I saw from that interview and it’s still my favourite.

Two of the three accusers did hire their own attorneys, though. Lucy DeCoutere’s was the woman — Gillian Hnatiw — who spoke on her client’s behalf outside Old City Hall courthouse post-testimony.

Two of the three Ghomeshi-accusers did hire their own lawyers, though, with Lucy DeCoutere’s surely being the most recognizable. (I remember watching Gillian Hnatiw making a public statement outside the courthouse on her client’s behalf post-testimony).

I’ve heard that The Rebel’s Facebook page comments are even worse than the website’s, so much so that I think I’m gonna have to save this link for when there’s wine involved.

What a lovely photo! Margaret Trudeau lives in my (electoral) riding, so I’ve seen her out-and-about enough to say that her smile is genuinely that full of warmth. She looks thrilled for Malia and Sasha Obama on their “big night” and I must say: it’s been a bonus, of sorts, to see photos of people drawing Malia and

Good one! I think even the Americans in the audience would get that reference by now, much to 60 Minutes’ embarrassment.

You’ve put it very well. The only thing worthwhile about that Huffington Post article was getting to witness Scott Brison firing back at Candice Bergen, without benefit of notes. I realize that’s to be expected from the Treasury Board President but he’s quite impressive at the speaking-off-the-cuff stuff.

I’d been reserving “a CanCon short-fingered vulgarian” for Kevin O’Leary — should he actually stop bloviating and run for the Conservative Party leadership — but you’re right, Mrs. F.: it’s a damn good fit for Ezra Irrelevant, too.

I’m very curious, too, especially because his former employer — Sun Media — had to issue a formal apology to Justin Trudeau on Ezra Levant’s behalf, after he went on a truly unhinged rant about Trudeau and slurred both Pierre and Margaret in the process.

Yes, it was in the week leading up to the federal election in 1993. Dreadful business but Jean Chrétien had a brilliant comeback, along the lines of: well, at least I don’t speak out of both sides of my mouth.

She still gets mocked and shat on by Conservatives but, otherwise, she’s pretty widely respected and admired in Canada.
