I had a several year love affair with red hair dyes... and those not-so-scientific results tell me that you may be happier after giving it a few days to breathe. Real, honest-to-goodness sun brings out the red like you wouldn't believe, so if you haven't seen your hair in full sunshine, reserve judgement!

Most of what has already been said is pretty true. If you're hoping for brighter colour, you will probably need to lighten it a bit first...

I hear you! I also hear what lana_bb! is saying, because my SO and I talk about this issue (as it relates my libido) pretty frequently. I'm on anti-depressants (though, for its anxiolitic effects - fuck I wish anti-anxiety meds would get more research), and my SO is a FP physician, so we've talked about this issue.

This was one of my favourite parts on Fringe. When they clearly just don't give a fuck, and there are huge Canadian or British Columbian flags in the background.

Kitty 1, mainly because Kitty 2 seems like its owners designed a contraption and trapped the poor kitty inside, solely to create a GIF-able moment. So does that mean that I should vote for Kitty 2, so it can be freed from its owners? I don't know.

Good call on the last piece of advice. I just had a budding friendship terminate itself because my potential new friend was starting to develop feelings for me. While it sucks, because I'm new in town and don't know a ton of people, I appreciate the fact that he didn't stick around.

Ha! Your shower sounds like exactly what I was planning on doing, before one of my bridesmaids got really excited and asked if she could plan my shower. I said "Okay, but only if it's cheap, and it has to happen, like, the day before, because half my bridal party lives out of town. Oh, and no penis figurines."

It's such an awkward stage - I've cut off all my hair a few times, and am rocking a longer look right now. I'd second the suggestion that you make an appointment with a stylist. Find some pictures of things you like that are close-ish to your length, bring them in, and let the stylist do their thing...

This may be a liiiiitle long, and, without knowing the audience, maybe a little edgy, but I think it's framing what you're taking about. I'd recommend listening to it, not just reading it, as she has a real rhythm to it.

What, you don't think he looks like an O'Russell? Top o' the mornin, Katie Couric!

I agree that there's a huge culture of shame, etc around abdication in England. However, I don't know if there's any case in recent memory wherein a monarch has abdicated after a long period of ruling. Edward's case was very different (and was shameful for not only his abdication, but his reasons for abdication, no?).

Meanwhile, Prince Charles has been dropping hints about Queen Beatrix to his dear old mum ever since the news broke...

Good luck! I've been there; Mr. Stockton (well, Dr. Stockton, I guess) was on pins and needles for months. The waiting can drive the partners crazy too!

I seem to remember he responded to the page via phone? Which is what you do if you need to maybe up someone's medicine dosage, not when you might need to evaluate for and potentially perform a crash c-section...

Hey, being a caregiver for anybody is stressful. Doesn't matter if it's a physical thing or a mental thing. The stigma around mental health extends to caregivers/partners too.

Oh, man, I feel his pain. I've gone through a whack of different SSRIs and SNRIs until I found a Rx that actually worked for my anxiety. I know for me the first week or two is usually totally rough - all side effects, no effects.

To expand on indprod's comment - it's mainly because doctors need to remain detached and calm when they're in emergent situations. When someone is trying to be both a parent/partner and a doctor, their emotions could get in the way of thinking clearly. In a purely elective procedure, if, say, an unexpected

Well, the two other major lady crooners of the time are Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. Both of them have killer voices. John Coltrane is also wonderful; A Love Supreme is very... intellectual jazz, I had to kind of work up to my appreciation of that album specifically. But he plays a BEAUTIFUL sax. Another great

I'm currently reading 419 by Will Ferguson, and one of its threads is about the internet scam world. It's a great read about how these things can unfold in the real world, and can help to answer the question that some people are wondering about "how can this actually happen?"

Sounds like the death of the mother was actually just a tragedy - a massive clot in the artery in her lung, leading to cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, doctors can't always save people when things like that happen. The fact that the hospital is behaving like a massive douche is one thing, but I don't think they can
