“Some” can argue any damn thing they want. But “some” don’t set the rules for employment or maintain them at any old company. Just because you think something doesn’t entitle you to use company resources to shit it out into the world.

It is a company. You do not have the right to express yourself free from consequences

You can be highly educated and good at some things and still be pretty stupid.

Everyone is focusing on the manifesto itself, but come on. What do you think it was like working with this guy? He was willing to put in the effort to write out those 10 pages. Surely, he acted on his beliefs.

Whistle blowing to who? Society? Management?

The guy is wrote it is not “stupid”. I mean he’s highly educated and an engineer. He made an awful decision, yes, but my question is: What did he think would happen? Best case scenario, nobody wants to work with you, especially women, but somehow you retain your job while gaining infamy.

You don’t need a screed to do it. When you mentally barf on 10 pages as a way to make and support every facet of your argument you’ll lose your audience fairly quickly. That’s not how to start a dialogue or blow a whistle, this seems to have been an attempt to open and close the argument in a single document.

Mr. Google Guy used false science to prove why women suck. The same BS was used to ‘prove’ that African Americans are inherently stupider than whites. Also, ‘proven’ is that the world is flat, and that the sun revolves around the Earth and that vaccines cause autism. But for reallzies, this same guy would have been…

Implying that the screed-writer’s “argument” has any basis in fact or actual science, and positing that opinions formed from this type of flawed material have an equal footing in a debate with opinions formed from actual facts, is both a false equivalency and a fundamental mistake.

Just because there can be two sides to something doesn’t automatically make both those sides valid or equal in facts or morality. Spouting evodevo pseudoscientific eugenics doesn’t entitle anyone to respect for that opinion just beause it was worded politely.

The Google screed-writer’s intentions are different because they are built from widely discredited pseudoscience, and demanding that they be given equal weight with “women are as capable as men” is ludicrous. The debate he wants was already had, and lost, and its losers refuse to admit that or educate themselves.

So, so scary. He totally goes out of his way to push her, and even though I can’t see his head right after that it looks like he turns around and sees her head falling directly under the wheel of an uncoming bus and then jugs jogs on nonchalantly (and then apparently circles back later?) I really hope they catch this…

Blowing the whistle on discriminatory and oppressive practices doesn’t necessarily involve company-wide screeds.

Skip the manifesto and just wear jeans every day.

I was about to hit send on my “I want to wear jeans everyday” manifesto to the whole company.

That looked 100% deliberate. Like he timed it out to push her into traffic. Somehow she knows or it was a hit job. should be charged with attempted murder or great bodily harm.
