Sam hung around in Latvia for debriefing with Torres, then flew to Maryland to talk to Isaiah before heading home to Louisiana

plenty of people out there in the world have metal as part of prosthesis and are able to travel by plane, although I’m sure a lot of them have had to answer a lot of stupid questions on their way through security.

Did anyone else, while watching Sam practice with the shield, think of the training montage from A Knight’s Tale (2001)? With “Low Rider” playing on the soundtrack?  Heath Ledger getting knocked off his horse etc?

Whenever I think about the success of the MCU, and that first iron man flick, I marvel (pun semi-intended) that a good 25 minutes of the flick is RDjr basically in his garage, tinkering with shit, talking only to his robot Butler...

And it is ENTHRALLING.

Minus the Margot Robbie Corner.

In the immortal words of Erskine, “A good man.”

it’s interesting that in the MCU, they’ll take comedic actors and turn them into action stars, instead of taking more “action star” actors and try to teach them to be funny.

Flinching is exactly what proves that he doesn’t want to die.

I think they are doing a great job with showing the differences between Sam, Steve, Isaiah, and John. Sam knows that America has down terrible things but believes in the mythology even if he doesn’t trust it.

Still one more episode, and Zemo hasn’t put on his purple mask yet I wouldn’t be so sure he’s out for the count.

The contexts of when they became soldiers matters a great deal. Steve became a soldier in a global conflict that bore at least some moral authority (how much really depends on the level you accept that the US Government actually cared about the Holocaust and ...)

Zemo was kind of a weird story element as I don’t know if anything needed him.

The problem isn’t that minority character deaths are a trope. That is just a side effect of inclusion. Before roles were given to non-white actors, writers just did the same thing to white characters

Dr. Cho is a good example...

Now playing

Is that the MCU’s first training montage?

Which is the opposite of what Sam tells Bucky to do in making his amends.

he’s just really, REALLY in denial.

I bitched after last week’s episode; but I really enjoyed this week’s. Best of the series, IMO. (Held the whole’s family’s attention, by the way.  No one ran off to do something else, half way thru.)

Sure.

Just the singer, yeah, but it’s Keef’s band.
