Not just Toyota, Honda (and some other Japanese brands) have an allocation system that is similar.

CORRECTION: It was during a trip to Europe in when JF was 16, not in California.
I recall seeing her tell the Garbo story on some other talk show (Letterman? Leno?) years ago. It was in the late 50's or early 60's and Garbo visited the (Henry) Fonda family at their beach house in California.
Helen was always supportive of Jackie’s racing career. They were (and are) quite devoted to their marriage from the start, and were quite a glamorous young couple in F1 in their day. Hearing of her mental decline was quite a shock.
Maybe not that “recent”, but the last redesign of the Mazda3 hatch has those hideously oversized C-pillars. The front half of the car looks great, but those C-pillars really give the car an unbalanced look and are terrible for visibility. They also dumbed-down the suspension and made it noticeably heavier and less…
I think this list should include the 1971 Monte Carlos prepared by Junior Johnson and driven by Charlie Glotzbach and Bobby Allison in 1971- 1972. After an absence of almost a decade, Chevy was back with a competitive team and drivers that were capable of winning races against Ford and Chrysler.
Tesla Fanboys: “You don’t need tight suspension bolts! Teslas are designed to have loose suspension bolts!”
Yes, I would gladly give up the leather upholstery and infotainment gear if they would go back to IRS and make the cars sporty again. I got a 2022 Mazda3 hatch last year as a loaner, and I was glad to give it back and drive my 2013 when it was over, my old car felt so much more nimble and sportier.

There’s a couple of long discussion threads on this at the civic11forum.com message board. Some dealers are replacing steering racks, but they’re now back-ordered, of course. It’s not a matter of LKAS being engaged or not.
I agree - I liked the original 924, it was clean and sleek. They messed it up by trying to add things on.
Not the first time that the 356 has been described as an “upside down bathtub”. But I agree, it’s so minimalist that it’s just a bland blob.
I’d have to say the 917/10 Can-Am car - I’d venture to say it’s impressive and intimidating looking, but not “beautiful”. The different contours of the fenders and nose, the vents on the fenders, the overall stubby proportions - It’s not “Pretty”.
You didn’t test Poland Spring??
Yeah, on message boards for the newest (11th gen.) Civic, there are lots of horror stories about dealers charging $5k (~15+%) or more in ADM.
Agreed, this on (Chassis #101) is the first of four Eagle F1 cars built, and it’s distinctive in that it was fitted with the 2.7 4-cylinder Climax engine rather than the V-12 Weslake that was intended.
The Ford GT40 in all its various Marks / versions / revisions
Yeah, the CNBC show has been trying too hard to be weird and attention-getting with various extreme stunts. The YouTube channel is much more down-to-earth, with more interesting segments about the cars themselves.
CNBC is the “All Shark Tank All The Time” network when the stock market isn’t trading.
You’ve probably heard the word “allocation” mentioned by the dealers.
