Helen was always supportive of Jackie’s racing career. They were (and are) quite devoted to their marriage from the start, and were quite a glamorous young couple in F1 in their day. Hearing of her mental decline was quite a shock.

Yes, I would gladly give up the leather upholstery and infotainment gear if they would go back to IRS and make the cars sporty again. I got a 2022 Mazda3 hatch last year as a loaner, and I was glad to give it back and drive my 2013 when it was over, my old car felt so much more nimble and sportier.

Yes, I think that’s a problem with a lot of skilled trades jobs. On top of that, being able to troubleshoot French hydraulic suspensions and electronics is, I suspect, a specialized trade unto itself.

There’s a couple of long discussion threads on this at the civic11forum.com message board. Some dealers are replacing steering racks, but they’re now back-ordered, of course. It’s not a matter of LKAS being engaged or not.

I agree - I liked the original 924, it was clean and sleek.  They messed it up by trying to add things on.

Not the first time that the 356 has been described as an “upside down bathtub”.   But I agree, it’s so minimalist that it’s just a bland blob.

I’d have to say the 917/10 Can-Am car - I’d venture to say it’s impressive and intimidating looking, but not “beautiful”. The different contours of the fenders and nose, the vents on the fenders, the overall stubby proportions - It’s not “Pretty”.

Agreed, this on (Chassis #101) is the first of four Eagle F1 cars built, and it’s distinctive in that it was fitted with the 2.7 4-cylinder Climax engine rather than the V-12 Weslake that was intended.

You’ve probably heard the word “allocation” mentioned by the dealers.

Yeah, most of the popular volume brands, esp. Toyota, Honda, etc. still work on allocation. It’s whatever the dealer has coming in, take it or leave it.  “Lean manufacturing” is often cited as the culprit.
