I’d like to give this one 1,000 stars. Not only did they mess up the rear visibility with those oversized C-pillars, they made an otherwise good-looking redesign look overly tail-heavy, like a car that had gained a lot of weight in the butt.

The “4th Gen” Dodge Charger in 1975.

They butchered the hatchback redesign too, with the weird shrunked-hood minivan proportions. Then they stopped offering it. Worst Honda decisions ever.

The 917 was probably the one owned by Chris McAllister (chassis 917-016) and the 512s was probably the one owned by John Giordano (Chassis #1004). They entered those cars in vintage events pretty regularly.

About 50 years ago, when I was in grammar school, there were special aerodynamically modified versions of the Dodge Charger, Mercury Cylone and Ford Torino produced for NASCAR racing. For 1969, the minimum production run for certification was only 500 units for sale to the public, so it was more common to see these

Or Long Island or Staten Island.

Particularly if it comes with interchangeable roof panels:

Yes - Nixon gave one to Brezhnev

I seriously wonder how many they sold in New York (or Manhattan, at least).

Will they actually make it possible to BUY one?

Yes, it’s fashionable to deride CR nowadays, but the auto test division currently does have a lot of bona fide car guys with interesting discussions about which cars are more fun to drive, etc. (link below). They might not be Car and Driver, but they’re not the joyless car-hating nerds who people seem to assume they

I have found that the CR reliability ratings correspond pretty well to my experience with various makes going back a couple of decades, and which includes cars from Chrysler, VW, Honda, Mazda, Hyundai, etc.. You could argue about their rating criteria for appliances, but the automotive reliability surveys are based on

Not to mention: Kansas City, Kansas; Iowa City, Iowa; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Montana City, Montana; California City, California; Florida City, Florida, etc., etc.

Interesting - Can you elaborate further?

If they converted to a Laura Ingraham Speedo/Tach, then you’d have a worthwhile idea!

The Finnish language is of Asiatic (Siberian) not European origin. It’s from the Uralic language family. Its only relatives in Europe are Estonian and Hungarian, and even Hungarian is only distantly related. The basic grammar and vocabulary have little resemblance to European languages. One advantage: no grammatical

There are lots of people of Finnish ethnicity on the upper Midwest. A lot of Finnish immigrants settled in Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, particularly the iron mining regions.

Somewhat off-topic, but related:
-Why were amber turn signals phased in the US in during the 1970's-1980's and then abandoned??
Does anybody know?

Torch’s story reminds me of another story about two decrepit 1970 Plymouth Superbirds that were known to the fans of these cars and sat in a field, decaying away, for many years. These two cars were a subject of discussion on internet message boards for old Mopars for some years in the early 2000's. Finally the owner

Torch would have been the other leading suspect, although the tail lights on Subaru 360's aren’t very interesting.
