"Not much is known about McCauley..."
Per wikipedia, Giada was born in 1970, which is consistent with the age of the (un-named) woman in the linked LA Times story from '94. Her online bio makes no mention of her father's history of abuse.
It's worth noting that the expansion of cable TV in the late 1970's - 1980's is what really enabled the proliferation of live broadcasts like this. Prior to that, edited highlight films on ABC's Wide World of Sports were pretty much the most you could hope for.
Typical Canadian - Trying to rub it in that you've got medical insurance that isn't useless!
Although fuel-efficiency for cars in the UK is quotes as miles per Imperial Gallon, not US gallon, so British car reports all have the MPG inflated by 20% to US readers.
The co-pay is the portion of a medical fee that the patient is responsible for. Given the artificially low reimbursements on many private medical insurance plans, it's become a huge loophole in medical billing that often results in exorbitant charges being forced back onto the patient.
I'll bet speaking Russian should make you lots of friends in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Estonia, Finland, Moldova...
They do, but they're "some of the good ones."
I think they were mostly afraid they'd get sick and be subjected to that horrible socialized medicine with their Canadian Socialist death panels and affordable co-pays.

Too bad they're caving on the important topic of how to serve Macadamia nuts.
I saw that car at the Monterey Historics in 2005. You could smell the two-stroke exhaust and hear the buzz from the motor powering the fans when it drove by. That was on top of the normal, throaty Can-Am big-block Chevy sound (which was better-sounding by far).
I don't disagree with any of these, but it's too bad the old Novi Indy cars have been forgotten:
In corporate-speak: "We've formed a committee to study the problem."
Right, Letterman had to "go mainstream" when he moved to 11:30PM on CBS.
My (Calvinist-raised) father said that it was always explained in his Sunday School classes that "Virgin Birth" meant "Born without Original Sin", and that the literal, biological interpretation of the phrase was a common misunderstanding.
For that matter, Letterman himself was much better when he had the 12:30 AM show on NBC, the humor and satire was very edgy and inspired. He got the 11:30 spot he'd wanted for so long, albeit on CBS instead of NBC, and the show got much blander and less interesting.
