If it says timed exclusive, that means other platforms are probably already known to happen or are at least in testing. Some of these are from developers new to the console space and are fine with taking some free marketing and extra time to work the kinks out for other platforms. 4K was already available on the PC so it is just adding existing features to new platforms, no one is forced to buy the new console, and the overhaul is free.

The thing is, Microsoft being a software company, has already nearly perfected the emulation of the 360 through their heavy R&D they put into virtualization that powers much of their azure cloud platform and more.
