Don't call him Frankly.
Fixed, and now you're the one that looks silly. Frankly, I'm embarrassed for you.
To first, or not to first,
Better solution: drive yourself.
Jeez, I thought after the laguardia crash public transport would have a reprieve from accidents. But I guess not.
There is also the matter of soundproofing - unless you get proper insulation against road noise (which may also deaden engine noise, and that could be food or bad), your music will definitely suffer. Classical music just doesn't work in OEM audio at highway speeds unless you have a luxury car with better inherent…
just about any aftermarket speakers will be better than the $4 single cones in most compacts. and sometimes the CHEAP aftermarket ones can even be better, with an OEM system.
GTS good times, traded mine in a couple years ago for my motorcycle, about as good as FWD gets. Butter smooth Manual.
Yes, my massive carpaper file from Jalopnik over the past few years needs MOAR!!!!!!
I too don't trust car washes or school car scratch party fund raisers. There is a car wash near my place that finishes with microfiber, but every time I drive by and see the hanging, swirling, unclean, grit-filled, pre-microfiber towel paint scratchers of doom I cringe.
I had a girl offer to wash my car after she spilled stuff on it (in a bikini no less) and I immediately refused because I knew there would be swirls in my paint afterwards. My own anal retentiveness about my car cockblocked me, haha.
let alone just hand over my keys to some guy just because he's standing at the car wash.
Knowing that she has a Bentley, those are probably fake.
I feel bad when I see schools doing car washes to raise money, because hey...I don't really trust a 14 year old to not scratch my paint (or any other car wash for that matter).
Do you think new speakers with the stock deck sounds good? The radio on my mustang is just so designed into the dashboard I doubt I'll ever replace it with an aftermarket just because I doubt I could integrate it into the dashboard like the stock one.
I've actually found that when (normal, non-audiophile) people replace their head unit they're usually quite satisfied right up to the point that they replace the speakers a few weeks later at the suggestion of someone who believes they're an audiophile. While true that the audio quality will improve, in reality, most…
Agreed, though probably the head unit is the 'lowest common denominator' in most stock systems, so it makes sense to replace it first (and buy one that will also be good enough for your replacement speakers, should you acquire some). Those stock speakers may not be great, but you can get more out of them with a better…
I agree, if you have an older car before the "Stereo Revolution", your speakers are holding you back a lot more than your old crappy head unit.
