I agree 100%... while most car audio systems have gotten better over the years, the aftermarket is full of great options for speakers, source units, amps, and what have you, all at a fairly decent price.

Stay away from the cheapo crap though, that goes for all components of your system. You think you're saving money

No one wants your baseball selfies...keep that crap to your instagram blog

Well yeah, I mean don't get the $40 made in China no-name turntable but you don't need to get the direct drive Technics either. Actually, you could probably get a no-name turntable and get a better stylus and *maybe* save some money there but anyhow...

yup good point there. in highschool we used to upgrade just the headunit, and added amp and subwoofer, because highschool. But then when we turn up the sound, the sound becomes either completely distorted or just muted because you blew out the cheap paper speaker that came with your car. upgrade as a package

I completely agree. Also, after getting a new head unit, you will most likely HAVE to replace the stock speakers as they probably won't take what it most likely more power for very longer.

Classic Gawker. Just as we are finally getting comfortable with the last round of changes, you change it up again.

They better keep working. The guy is at a level the car can't reach

Too busy working on Alonsos car.

I thought that "Jalopnik Edition" meant pre-dragoned.

If I buy a Jalopnik-edition BMW, it by-God better come with a Jalopnik sticker.

I believe this might be how it starts.

They play baseball in Russia??

Felt good to watch that! Que Rage Against the Machine at the 2:15 mark.

Better tires. The difference between the cornering performance/feel of my humble Fusion with the original tires from the factory vs. the Eagle GTs that I replaced them with is astounding. Tires should always be your first move.

Aww, I liked the sound of those Aston v-12's. AMG better make these new engines sound good, then. (Spoilers: They will. They're AMG.)

Last time someone landed on the Hudson in NY, it was Capt. Sully, and everyone was happy. Man, things have changed.

Kid about to unrack his bike at the front of the bus is lucky the driver was slow opening the door. Two seconds earlier and he might have been killed.

Trampa!!!!! Congrats on your COTD! I'm busy as hell, and can't drink beer... but I can't say enough good things about this brew that a friend brought back from Chicago.
