No one is saying it's unreasonable to expect sex in a marriage, or that it's unreasonable to be hurt by rejection. We're saying it's ridiculous to communicate your hurt feelings via an emailed spreadsheet to your wife. Dude is a fucking child, and probably horrible in bed.

Actually, we get to have our feelings about her feelings, too!

cock on? that's a new one.

The "you" was a collective you. Not you personally.

It's really not that black and white, though. You can hate that this law might discourage women from accessing medical care during pregnancies. You can, at the same time, hate the idea of pregnant women using drugs or alcohol and knowingly doing harm to not only themselves, but to their future child. That would

"Jenny McCarthy is essentially saying she burned through a vibrator a day. Holy. Shit."

Legalizing acutally increases the demand, and thus increases rates of abuse, rape, STDs, AIDS, poverty, etc. Legalizing is not the answer. We have to address the demand.

That certainly has a lot to do with it, but it's not the only answer as to why the work itself is dehumanizing.

I'm curious, have you ever been sold or purchased for sex?

I imagine it does, because banning prostitution doesn't eliminate the demand for it. But there's actually a lot of issues with regulating it, as well. A lot of research has demonstrated the demand increases when it's regulated, not just for adults, but for children. Rape, physical violence, STD, AIDS, etc. increases

Show me where my comment shamed, dismissed, or silenced anyone. I was fortunate enough to have escaped the life, and I know a great fucking deal about what I'm talking about, but keep reaching.

The people who enter it willingly (the "workers"), however, are also subjected to mental, physical, and sexual abuse, low wages, etc. It's a fundamental part of the job because, whether you are a "worker" or a "slave", you aren't considered a person. That's what happens when people purchase you for sex. What people

"Children aren't the more moral choice or anything. There's actually a really, really good argument that having children is a supremely selfish choice."

sweet. Jesus.

Yeah I dated a professional soccer player once. He was gorgeous, generous, sweet, and kind.

Ugh, VOMIT. Can you imagine being so privileged in some ways, yet so totally unaware of how you sound and devoid of normal human empathy that you'd walk around openly saying something like that? What a dirtbag.

Ugh, awful! When I was in HS I waitressed at this local diner type of place and our manager was married with kids, a raging coke head, openly bisexual, and openly cheated on his wife on the regular with pretty much anyone he could get his hands on. It was just sort of known that if he asked you to come to the basement

It is so frustrating. But the guys who stiff you because you didn't give them your number are also the guys who think $3 off of $25 is a really good tip. I'll keep my number to myself and take the $0.

Agreed! Also, I read a study once that suggested people who swear more are also more honest and reliable than those who don't. Fuck yes, keep cussing and stay true to your bad self. :)

Why not? Saying "I feel" or "My sense is that", etc. is indicative of right brain processing, whereas "I think" is more left-brain. Right brain is more intuitive than left; could lead to some very interesting insights.
