Right, batterers batter to have control and power over another person. That desire and impulse for control and power over another is a result of unresolved trauma.

PTSD and Bipolar don't necessarily make someone a batterer, but unresolved trauma is the reason one becomes a batterer. It lays the neural pathways down that lead to dysregulated emotion and triggered implicit memories that result in battering.
