I should also note that I went to my place of worship seeking marital advice, and my FEMALE clergy-person told me that when it comes to marriage, the only things men understand are sex and food...So basically if I wanted to stay married, I would have to shed the excess weight, (become sexy?) and cook a roast chicken

Whenever I feel like garbage after an abusive rant, I try to gain some perspective...Tina Fey's quote about women and our bodies sums it up quite nicely:

Don't apologize....his behavior is abusive....and I'm not going to defend his behavior because it is abhorrent. I just don't know what to do anymore.

I think part of me is resisting going to the gym, because I am terrified that I will lose the weight and it will be about something else....I love my husband and our children, but I don't know how to fix this and it sucks.

I have been a bit of a train-wreck for the past few days...this made me laugh. Thank you!!

The thing is, I know he is being a douche-bag and this makes me want to work out even less. I just want to be loved for being a good wife, mother, friend, etc. Why is that so much to ask?
