We didn’t, actually. One of my friend’s wedding presents to us was to transport all the food we made (we catered our own wedding) to the reception place while we were in the woods doing the ceremony. He grabbed another of our friends and made her hold the damn thing in her lap. They're very talented. And very good

Croquembouche y’all. Pate a choux pastry puffs filled with cream, held together with spun caramel, covered in chocolate. It was the opposite of a disaster, but we made it ourselves so I feel entitled to brag.

We made (ourselves! we’re insane/stupid!) a croquembouche. Which is a tower of pate a choux pastry puffs, filled with cream, held together with spun caramel, and then drizzled in chocolate. It was a thing of great beauty. And deliciousness.

I've always dreamed of a cafe/greenhouse/flower store. Imagine... Sipping tea with scones under the perfume of hundreds of herbs growing which you could then purchase. And it'd be warm and green all winter!

He sounds like he has undiagnosed bipolar disorder or something similar. Either way it's no excuse for his actions, but yeah it's a bit pathetic.

That sounds unfortunately similar to certain relatives whom I do not speak to. They can always justify aaaaanything, even abuse of minors, and The Whole World is Out To Get Them even though all they want is to just be the best person. Ugh ugh ugh.

The tiny girl on her left that looks about three. Ohmygosh I just died forever of how adorable she is.

My husband and I seriously considered combining our names so we would be the McBeardnuts. We spent a solid week with that as the plan, but finally decided to go with just my last name for the sake of the childrens.

I'm trying to respond in a non-fangirly way to this news but all I can think is "eeeeeeeeeeee!"

So women who don't live up to your specific ideal of victimhood don't deserve our respect/sympathy/outrage? Seriously? Because she made one kind-of-objectionable joke she deserved what she got?

That reassures me to hear. There are some narsty communicable eye infections out there.

Aw, thanks. It was a pretty ridiculous time. The more it comes up though, the more I find people who know exactly what I'm talking about.

My meltdown was over food too. My junior year of college, I was so in love with a guy who was in love with me too, but in a three year relationship. He would later dump his girlfriend, date me for six months, dump me, and then get back together with his original girlfriend. They later got married.

Speaking as a food retail employee, I usually try to be extra nice to people using SNAP, because I figure they've got enough shit to deal with. I'm going to be EXTRA nice to them tomorrow, just to spite this douche.

It always makes me wonder what happened to these people. At my work (grocery store) people all the time ask about fa-jai-ta sauce and case-uh-dill-uhs. People, for real, those are words in the English language now. If Taco Bell has used it as a burrito wrap, you can pronounce quesadilla right.

I've read interviews with MIA where she said the same thing. Diplo had some role in the production of Arular, and suddenly everyone was treating it like her songs were Diplo songs featuring MIA. That's some bullshit right there.

They do vaccinate their kids. And when they don't, it's usually because of lack of access. At least, that's what I've gathered from all the reporting after that measles outbreak here in Ohio. Every Amish person I heard interviewed basically said that vaccinations were difficult to get and not something they really

That's why I love the idea of expressing calories in terms of exercise, a la this article:

September 2002: I discover the ass when the bikini bottoms I bought at the beginning of summer no longer fit and I go from a size 4 to a size 10. :( fourteen was a rough age.

When trying to deal with my depression, I read a book that described the phenomenon of 'do-nothing-ism' which I did all the time (and still sometimes do). It's basically when doing anything would make you feel better, but then you just don't do anything anyway, because ... reasons.
