As city dwellers who wanted to stay in the city, we searched for 2 years before finding our Dream House. After 6 months in our new place, I can confirm it was worth every single online search, every open house insanity, every nervous "what if".

Second the call for garage and estate sales - I've bought old school encyclopedia's for craft projects that way.
