I guess assuming you use all your ground beef in chili or whatever. If you want to make a recipe that uses raw ground beef such as meatloaf, meatballs, stuffed cabbage, or homemade burgers, this tip is pretty useless.
Just use your common sense. Nursing homes, assisted living places, or even hospitals is a good suggestion, and they might want your old novels, but they sure don’t need outdated reference books or tech manuals. In fact, no one wants those. Sometimes churches have used book sales too, and will take donations.
I want to recommend your comment over and over again. Speaking as someone who is 2nd generation, I feel no sadness or regret that my father cut his parents out of his life before I was born. I love the usual suspects already mentioned, but also Caroline Linden, Liz Carlyle, Theresa Romain, Miranda Neville, Vanessa Kelly, Jo Beverly, Joanna Bourne, Mary Jo Putney, Julie Anne Long, Elizabeth Essex, Connie Brockway, have written many, many excellent books.
I love historical mysteries too. You’ve just listed some of the best Regency ones, although for some reason a lot more use medieval or Victorian settings.
If you want something with a bit more action(kidnapping, road trip), try “Devil’s Cub”. A lot of people, including me, consider it their favorite Heyer.
