We just replaced the fan on our dumb 20+ year old fridge. The repairman told us it was a nice simple model, and we should hold on to it as long as we can. By the way, it was hard to find a repairman; some of the places that looked local and had local numbers, when I called it sounded like it was a call center…
Many EVs come with free charging from the manufacturer for the first couple of years, so you would also lose that if you buy used. Charging stations are an issue in certain parts of the country, but not in the NYC metro area. I did flip my first EV for a profit, and bought another one immediately, and got that sweet Fe…
I don’t really need the paper card because my state uses an app called Docket, which keeps a record of all my recent vaccines-flu, COVID, etc. But if you don’t have that, I would keep the card because often when you fill out forms at a doctor’s office or hospital they ask about the dates of vaccines.
Those are gorgeous!
I like FlightStats for tracking flights, it’s free and updates minute by minute.
Austin and Orlando? That seems absurd. Austin is running out of water and Florida under their “non-woke” governor refuses to even admit climate change exists.
The movies you picked are not my cup of tea, but right now I am watching The Pajama Game on Tubi. I love old musicals, and this one stars Doris Day and John Raitt(Bonnie Raitt’s father). The songs are great!
I had a piece of tough steak in the freezer, because I hate to throw away food. So this article inspired me to take it out. In a very short time, it was soft enough to slice razor thin, on the bias, I piled it on some toasted bread with lettuce, tomato & mayo, and it was pretty darn good. Better than I expected.
I’ve stayed in most of these, and a lot of times the quality depends on who owns the individual hotel. We used to stay in a particular EconoLodge that was quite good, but others I’ve been to are crappy. Some of these have really minimal breakfast(Hostess Donuts, anyone?). Some have just coffee, or nothing at all, like…
Correct, there is no state sales tax if you are there for more than 30 days, I believe that’s true in most states. Holiday Inn Express does have a great breakfast buffet, so you’re also saving yourself the cost of breakfast, and possibly lunch!
Looks geat!
I really wouldn’t worry about chemicals leaching from the hose, unless you are using water that has been sitting in the hose for a while. If you drain the hose after turning off the spigot, and/or run the water for a minute before watering your vegetables, it should be fine.
Great advice. Never burn your bridges, as tempting as it is.
This sounds wonderful!
I agree. The entryway with half a flight going down, and half a flight going up, is a unique feature of bilevels. And there’s always half a flight of stairs going up to the front door.
That picture does not show a saltbox. Historic saltbox houses have an unequal roof gable. Typically there is a long sloping roof facing south, and the north facing side of the roof is shorter and steeper. Another style which was ubiquitous from the 1960's through the 80's was the bilevel. Not sad to see those go away!
Nah, it’s more like a 40 minute ride on the PATH if you’re going to Penn Station, maybe half that to downtown, at best.
What they didn’t take into account was the hours that public transportation is available. NYC subways run 24/7. Very few other cities have that. Also, you pay a flat fare, instead of getting charged for the distance you travel. I will say that transportation to Newark airport is much better and easier than either…
How would that make sense? Steal ballots and open the envelopes and change the votes? It wouldn’t work because the tampering would be obvious, as soon as you open the outer and inner envelope. Or just steal ballots and throw them away? People can easily check if their mailed ballot was received, plus you’d also be…
