To him, marriage is a transaction and nothing more. He lacks the empathy and humility to understand that his point of view on marriage is not the norm, because people outside of Donald Trump aren’t really real to him.

Does he really think that crying because your husband might imminently die is unusual? Really? This is almost more baffling than the whole sweeping the forests thing. Almost.

I don’t think one single person would be sad if he died. Melania would just go spend money.

If you haven’t noticed, Jez has been ‘hollowed out’ (s/o to maraleia) in the last year. Lauren is one of less than a handful of writers that have been on staff for longer than 14 months. Deadspin’s death was quick and dignified comparatively.

People keep making this point under the assumption that a World Series game was attended exclusively by people who live within 20 minutes of the stadium. I live on the VA/NC border and have friends who drove five hours to go to game 4. It’s not just DC natives.

It’s not as if many people from the hood can afford WS tickets. Those boos came from people with money.

It’s really the opposite.  It’s amazing his handlers would allow him out in public like this knowing how much he’s hated outside his little bubble.

I loved everything about this. From the boos, to the “lock him up” chants to this:

This was literally his first real public appearance in over three years. He’s always been at rallies where everyone is almost entirely:

I honestly feel like something like this will be what brings him down. Not legal issues, or ethical violations....it will be something like a crowd booing and wounding his fragile little ego that will cause him to quit and let the world know, arms crossed and lip sticking out, that he didn’t want to be president…
