An entirely valid possibility, it’s true. Whatever the cause, he hasn’t actually disclosed an official statement on the delay, so far as I’m aware, so we’re all just speculating. It’s driving his super-fans batty, and causes those with any interest at all at least some level of frustration.

Do you realize that the delay between his books has, in the past, been significantly less than 6-7 years?

Rothfuss may have the same problem as Martin. Book 3 is taking forever, relative to (what was perceivable of) the delay between 1 and 2. However, they are great books, no question there!

Sword of Truth series is mediocre at best. (But the show they made from it is even worse!) Oh, it’s readable, but it is not great. I don’t much care for ASOIAF, either, but maybe people who love one will naturally love the other? I guess I can’t really say.

Came for this. Should be obvious that a “trackball” would, you know, involve some form of “ball” in it. Is it not?

Kinda reminds me a bit of the non-YA series “Otherland” by Tad Williams. That one’s not so much about a game that people get into then get dubious about, but the theme is still quite similar.

TL;DR - It’s all just marketing BS anyway. (Probably the result of some MBA with a “clever idea to make us look great!”)

I’ve never (literally never) had to hard reboot my iPhone to make it function again.

And I missed all the different keyboard options (which I know iPhone can do now).

How did you miss the sequel to We Are Legion (We Are Bob)? It’s not like that’s a majorly obscure book, after all, since it was Audible’s Best of 2016 - Science Fiction winner. https://goo.gl/oA9GWd

Yes, you are weird. BUT! Weird ≠ bad! In fact, this kind of weird shouldn’t be weird, but is due to the major failings in the majority of other human beings making up society.

You need an upgrade, Doc! My imagination flows in at least 8k with full VR, tactile feed back included! (Falling off buildings really gets one’s heart pumping!)

Jim Dale and Roy Dotrice smile at these hardworking folks as they walk through their simple work days.

Another “duh!” moment, brought to you by people who think they’re being useful.

There is something appealing in the absurdity, it’s true! And your skepticism is well founded, I’d say.

Have you ever been using your iPhone and found yourself wishing it was heavier and more prone to viruses?

My dearest hope is that this situation of delays continues indefinitely.

Here’s a version my friend saw (photo from the internet - he told me about it)
