People often are confused when I try to bring this up, so I am always happy to find others with a similar mindset. I actually really like the IDEA of the Harry Potter universe, but feel the execution doesn’t really deserve the acclaim the series has gotten. Character development, for example, is another area where the

As others have mentioned, you should look into the books Brandon Sanderson has written. He even has his own “Laws of Magic” that he follows when coming up with laws for magic systems.

Affiliated it is, but it is more of a merging of two companies, and mostly of the name, really.

Man, that Amazon.com price is a STEAL!

They should do Black Cauldron as a live action remake. I wouldn't say it was one of their great ones, though others will disagree ("others" always do), but it does have a lot of story potential built in. Change the story some, tweak it in some good ways, and it could be a great live action movie.

From my point of view, I cannot see how these can be any less worthy of consideration for the title of “art” than this famous piece:

Rings get named for Larry Niven, typically, in reference/honor to his book series that includes Ringworld. It's a fascinating idea, one that I agree, is more viable than a sphere, and in its own way, more of a neat idea, I think.

Is this new to some people? I think I was maybe 5 when I learned about bread in brown sugar. But then, I was always the curious sort, so when I saw a slice of bread in the pot, I asked what it was doing there among the sugar.

By my understanding of your points, wouldn't #5 fall under #2's "Greyjoy Family Matters" and not be a separate point? While perhaps it is a big plot and happening (I haven't read that far), it doesn't really seem to be distinct enough to warrant its own enumeration.

Heh, you beat me to it! Though, you did forget the link. Don't worry, I've got your back.

I just remembered of a nearly perfect clip for your situation, from the first episode of the show Better Off Ted. Great show, if you haven't watched it. Your conversation sounds like it might resembled this one between a father and daughter:

I'll add to your explanation:

Because Hollywood + MBAs...

As someone who was raised Mormon, I have seen a lot of takes on people reacting to their (I'm now an atheist) beliefs. As you might expect, your daughter's example is one of the best, for several reasons. Thanks for sharing!

Hmm, thought I had hit "Publish" on this reply hours ago... oh well.

Speaking of deadlines, did you hear/read about what he did when turning in the first draft of the sequel to Alloy of Law? I don't wanna call him a book-writing robot, but... well, he might be related to one.

I wasn't floored, but I did thoroughly enjoy Firefight. Yeah, I called some of it, but there was plenty I didn't guess ahead of time, and that's what makes me keep reading books that Sanderson writes.

It can, but there are some additional factors you would need to know in order to make a real analysis. Mostly, I am referring to the "C" rating of a battery. All rechargeable batteries have a C rating, though it is not something advertised. In short, the C rating is tied to how fast you can safely charge or discharge

Eric, I feel that this article is missing a note about another kind of electronic compatibility. Specifically, how some chargers (majority, I believe) are only suitable for charging Apple devices with any acceptable speed.

Am I the only person who removes those things? I've never understood why people leave marketing stickers on their laptops. All they are there for, if you think about it, is so that you know what's inside at a simple glance. Once you own it, get rid of the stickers that don't matter. Those on the bottom with serial
