@PhillyLass: Yes, I knew the requirements. I made decisions on daycare by the appropriateness of a particular provider for my child. If there is a policy in place that wouldn't work for my kids, then off the list. In the DC area we have tons of options. All of them have downsides (high cost, difficult commutes)…

@frostbyte.rcb: We had lots of horrible things happen in my family. I was one of the lucky ones who was not sexually abused, but I was surrounded by my siblings, nieces, parents who were.

@WrittenPyramids: Oh, I'm a big fan of hers, read that of course! I used to be a buyer for a chain of indie bookstores. I restrained myself to just 2 titles to recommend but every holiday season it is so hard to resist recommending books to everyone.
