I found this actual footage of James Baldwin responding to Lemon’s comparison:

Two- Hathor is Elodie Young, her father is Cambodian.

No. In order for it to be rock-solid, it needed to have the federal courts come in and say “the constitution is read this way. Absolutely any other interpretation would be wrong.” The only way it could be reverted is if the courts, once again, will hear arguments. And they won’t.

When you are President and you get to appoint a justice (or any judge), you look at their record and history for clues about how they might vote on issues that maybe you privately support but haven’t taken a public stance. The fact that he appointed two justices who were pro-gay marriage should be an indicator on

I see. Because you didn’t pay attention in high school civics, and you’ve been called out, you’ll turn the conversation. Got it.

Part of this is down to the bristling idea that superhero comics shouldn’t—and, bizarrely enough, can’t—feature commentary on current social issues. That, to some people, superhero comics are meant to be for young kids, and because they deal with people in spandex punching people in spandex, they should be sequestered

I don’t think you understand white privilege is. People are not accusing him of being rich and lazy. His privilege is an full display as he sits in his mansion as a highly successful writter, director, being interviewed about his work and feels the need to bring up race and complain about how his skin color is used

Not really. The VMAs is simply about awarding the most popular videos. Complaining about being overlooked for an award isn’t the same thing as making a movie about slavery and then saying black critics are being unfair towards it.

There is no greater honor for an artist than to have their work analyzed, discussed, written about, argued over. The one who act like anything other than praise and forking over cash is an inconvenience are spoiled brats. It’s the surest sign that an artist has gone soft.

He’s just basically exploiting some of humanity’s bleakest tragedies and playing it up with some cool shots and witty banter, without considering the moral complexities of the tragedy.

Wow, just the multiple levels of entitlement at play here is amazing. Filmmaker being “oppressed” by a critic? Cry me a fucking river. The privilege of making and putting out your art goes hand in hand with criticism. Successful artists who whine about critics or the content of the criticism are the worst. Criticism

Jar Jar Binks returns. But instead of being lame like last time, he is badass. Eye-patch, one robot arm, no more funny voices (they cut out his tongue while he was a prisoner). He’s only out for one thing, now: revenge for the devastation the Empire perpetrated on Naboo, for all of his people who were wiped out.

All those shrooms, man :/

The biological world never ceases to amaze. Imagine encountering a humanoid alien race that reproduces like this or like those cave insects where the females have the “equipment”.

heavy buzzed, with lightly smoked head :P

we’re talking scientists and engineers, why would they make something that looks homemade?

you have never built anything yourself, I’d bet

Engineers make things that work. Marketers make things that look pretty.
