I was you, and when it became apparent that I was spending too much to keep the matrix running, I traded it in for a Mazda. Skyactiv + manual transmission = fun!

I wish they would stop cock-blocking the 6MT and 2.5L Skyactiv combo. Honestly, I love my 6mt and 2.0L skyactiv, but I want the extra power without having to give up my manual.

Test drive the CX5, its the least SUV-feeling CUV I’ve ever driven. Honestly it drives like a regular (albeit bloated) hatchback. I bought one over the non-turbo imprezza and the pre-facelift Forrester (which was out of my price range).

10/10 I would trade in my CX5 for a Mazda6 wagon... but yes, I know I am in the minority and it would be poor product planning on Mazda’s part :-(

This is actually my plan as I own a CX5 and lust for a Mazda6 wagon I know isn’t coming anytime soon. TBH, the CX5 with a manual transmission is a fine car, slow, but great handling for a CUV.
